If you can get 10 people that dislike a General enough then so be it. If 10 people don't trust a General then they shouldn't be a General regardless of how impartial they may be. There are a lot of different groups in the chat, and they all need Generals they can agree upon.

This whole drama started because people didn't like the Generals chosen so voted to get rid of them altogether, if you want Generals brought back then you need a way to avoid that situation again.

If there are no Generals that can generally be agreed upon by the members of the fc, then there shouldn't be any. You can't have people in the positions that could be biased or that people think will be biased, it just leads to more drama.

The reason this started is because people felt we didn't need the generals. And I can understand that way of thinking. Most of the generals were huge supporters of removing the system.

But if we go back to generals and just put in a "X people to remove generals" policy, we're going to end up playing a very long game of politics while people people throw a fit over someone they have a personal grudge against (or just want a chance at the spot themselves). This will continue until people get tired of playing politics or we just don't have generals. So honestly, we'd be better off just cutting out the nonsense and removing generals altogether. Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

Why is everyone making a big deal about being a general?

It's incredibly easy to make the friend's chat tollerable:

• Dethal makes the final decisions
• No one is a general, except a few people who are active everyday.
• Those people have 0 authority and only kick spammers. Not general rule-breakers.
• Generals should be people who are able to tolerate other players, without using the ignore list.
• No politics. (It's a community fc, since when has politics ever been a rational discussion?)
• If you can't handle what players are in power, leave.
• If you can't handle other players in the same chat, use the ignore list or leave.

The last time the FC owner took over and did what they wanted without a vote, we ended up having to move the entire FC. And as far as I'm aware, Dethal hasn't advocated skipping a vote anyway.

I want to vote option 3.

Its nice to have democratic processes but these guidelines and rules will never stop piling on if you look at the old thread you can see tons of different lengthy proposed features that sound more like a congressional senate hearing rather than a video game FC and it will get to a point where no really remembers how these procedures work.

I have come to trust that Dethal has a genuine desire to see the FC work. Even when Aegis broke away from the FC Dethal actually made the effort to try and bring us back and work out anything to be on good terms. And then we discussed Supernatural.

For the record, I was serious. And I actually put forward a platform, unlike you jokers. Patrolling Lore FC almost makes you wish for a Great Revision.

And I imagine the majority of those people would only do so as a petty power-grab. Most would lack motivation, foresight, impartiality, etc.

I am acutely aware that it's merely a video game chatroom, and only want to improve it. And I proposed a comprehensive plan to do so. Patrolling Lore FC almost makes you wish for a Great Revision.
