Yea, there was a lot of corruption and backroom deal making going on in how Generals were selected previously.

This allows the FC to still be a stable place for discussion and still avoid FC politics.

I don't see how this election process, however it went down, is better. I also don't see why we need generals again.

No it's obviously open to bias but I don't think voting on General's is a much better solution.

No it's obviously open to bias but I don't think voting on General's is a much better solution.

If the vote was done how we've always done them I'd agree, but we don't do that anymore so we don't have to follow that. Could just do a straight election that only lasts 1 week. -Ascertes, King of all the Hallowlands and the Everchosen of Saradomin.

Okay I guess I should post here too so that everyone can read what goes on in my head.

Lately the fc has seen a lot of conversation. Heated conversation, even. And no one had the power to do anything about it, since we had no generals and so on.
Then I was told that many people aren't happy with how the things are now, so I was okay with trying something to make the fc a better place for all of us.

So if this works out fine, cool. If not, we'll get back to voting or no generals or whatever. I'd be interested to hear what people think about this now. Or if there are suggestions to generals or anything. I'm pretty cool

Special FC Announcement:

From this point forward, the following rules shall be enforced:

5. Political discussion is not allowed.

6. Religious discussion is not allowed.

7. Lethalintent can do whatever he wants.

8. Inappropriate language is not allowed.

9. Discussing ***, ****, murder, torture etc... is not allowed.

10. Aligned people will be prosecuted.

11. All people with questionable histories will be banned from the fc.

12. People who stalk others irl will be banned from the fc.

13. FC rules can change on a fly without a vote, because good reasons and stuff.

13. If someone feels uncomfortable about some conversation, the people engaging in the conversation must stop, or risk being banned.

14. People who pretend to be someone they are not will be banned.

15. People who scam others will be banned.

16. Dancers will be prosecuted. Those evil sinners.

Now, you might all argue that we can't agree on such rules without a vote. However! I think everyone agrees that these rules are good guidelines to follow. Therefore there is no need for a vote. I'm too Unaligned to have a forum signature.

One reservation I did have and I talked to Dethal and others about this so I'll just put it out there.

Factions politics have long plagued the FC, and I myself am just kind of cautious over the fact that in terms of factions of our like 10 generals 5 are zamorakians, 4 Zarosians, and me as the Saradominists. I just think it would be nicer if things were a little more diverse but I know that dethal said he would consider this.

The way I see it, if people want to engage in heated discussion that's fine, if not that's fine too. If they don't want to see it, the ignore button is right there. We don't need to manage everyone like children.

However, if there is going to be a change in the structure of the FC, it should at least be voted upon.

If we are going to switch back to generals, I don't think factions should have anything to do with it. If someone does let their faction influence their decisions, they aren't fit for the role and it should instead be given to someone else.

Yea but who decides that? And we know everyone to some extent has a history of bias and factionism its the lore community, and even if the person thinks they are above it others don't view the person that way.

I think its a valid concern. We can't say factions shouldn't play a part then make a vast majority of generals from the same clan and from the same faction.
