Then perhaps we should do something along the lines where we have gens appointed, but do not have stars all the time?
For example, we appoint persons X, Y and Z. These people will be "emergency generals," they will have their stars in times when the FC is lately being plagued with certain topics of conversation and the FC needs real regulation. But otherwise, they have regular smileys just like everyone else.
Perhaps this would be a nice compromise between a relaxed Fc, but having at least some degree of regulation?

The problem is, emergencies cannot be planned for, and it's good to have Generals on at any given time, in case they are needed.
From what I've seen, most people enjoy having them on as a form of security and stability in case they an issue arises. I've personally already noticed a change in a few individuals who were considered to be trolls by some with the implementation of this system.
But I'm sure others have their own opinions and might disagree, I just think they're in the minority.

In other news, We're going to go ahead and start the AOG tournament! I have randomly paired up individuals, and I did not plan any "unfair" match ups. I know Ere* proposed revisions but nobody else commented on the matter so I'm going with the original plan.
Anyway, 1st round bracket is as follows:
Eren Lapucet
Vs.
Aterivus
WINNER:
Ere* Lapuce*.
Syrus Coy
Vs.
AesirWarrior
Kebabthief
Vs.
ShdwObserver
WINNER:
Kebabthief
Chaos Lupus
Vs.
Michael7050
Dennorak
Vs.
CaptainSpark
Ascertes
Vs.
Dethal
WINNER:
Ascertes

I see generals are back, but I have no idea who they are- and whether or not they're trustworthy or not ( I imagine they are, but I have no idea who they are).
I don't have my star back, which makes me confused. Am I not considered trustworthy, was this a slip? I have no idea.
Can we look into actually electing generals again, or reverting back completely...?

I think we seriously need to consider some sort of ranked system in case this fails.
Maybe we could diversify the ranks a bit as well, use some of the other ranks.
Give everyone who has voted in an election a 'recruit' stripe, give regulars a corporeal stripe, and then hold elections for generals with there being thresholds of votes for Captains and Lieutenants.
Decide upon a kick strategy where Generals can kick regulars, Captains kick recruits, and Lieutenants can kick smileys, or something with a similar down-slide in votes and power.
Next have
whenever
multiple similarly ranked people together- they need to consult and agree to kick whoever the person in question is- After giving a warning, and alerting the next lowest rank.
There are some flaws, for instance while it may be disallowed for generals to kick Lieutenants, its still possible due to Jagex fc rules, and in fighting could cause this to happen, but because it is explicitly against the fc rules- the person in question would face an automatic derank- with an appeal possible if the Lieutenant was accused of breaking other rules.
Please Consider this alternative, should either system we end up with fail. We can Iron out the specifics later and change some rules if we need to.

The new system was conjured and implemented in the span of a single a day. Apparently the system of complete anarchy totally backfired since certain elements in the FC have become more active.
The new generals themselves were "recommended" to dethal by a small council of individuals. Dethal took their reccomendations and made them generals. The larger FC got no say in this. I've been told this is just an "experiment."
If we DO decide to go with this new system, I do agree generals should be elected by the FC.
