You peer into a Chapel of Zamorak, which appears to be abandoned. Before you can close the doors again, a Revenant Chaos-Bringer flies at you and slays you instantly with a bolt of Shadow Lightning. Oh dear! You are dead!

My primary reason for this response is so that this thread doesn't get locked from you bumping something from over a year ago.
I would say Angel is simply slang for Icyene. That's it, nothing special. It's also possible however that the word Icyene has been forgotten and nowadays they are just referred to in public as Angels. Also when was the last date the word Angel was used in game? If it was in 2010, that would make sense since to me the term Icyene became more popular after 2011 when Branches of Darkmeyer was released, so it's likely a developer error.
Yeah, I heard (though I never saw the primary source, so I could be misinformed) that supposedly Osborne(?) said angels were just Icyene. I've been treating that as true since hearing that.
Makes one wonder about the "angels of Guthix" mentioned by the gnome children, though. Led me to an idea about Garlandia and one other Icyene converting to Guthix, and that they watch over the gnome people to this day... Or something.
Vampyres might be considered a dark angel or natural rival to the Icyene, assuming that winged humanoids can be considered the angel type.
