It's interesting to note how the paradigm of debate over Saradomin's character has shifted from 'is he evil?' to something like 'is he competent?'. I've still not decided on whether Saradomin's way is the best way, but at least it's becoming clear that his intentions are good.

Good thread.

It seems like, while he would never intentionally cause large amounts of destruction, wherever he goes, destruction tends to follow. ( Those poor cabbages ....oh and the naragi.)

It could be that the characterization of Zamorak they're moving towards, with the intent of compare/contrasting the two, is that he embraces the fact that destruction happens due to his presence, and attempts to give that destruction a purpose.

Wow, these quotes almost make me feel bad about having to kill Saradomin. Just not bad enough to not do it.

Why do I have to kill him? For one, he's used at least two Elder Artifacts, one of which he's currently using, the Elder Crown/Crown Archival. The other being the Stone of Jas. If we want the Dragonkin problem gone, we'll have to help the dragonkin kill all false users, plus the other gods, and find a place where the Stone can't be used any more (Elder Kiln anyone?). I already poked the Stone of Jas and are automatically on their bad side! If I help them with their job, then they'll just ignore me whenever I'll walk past them.

Also, he kind of said that the Centaur race went extinct, when it clearly wasn't! There are two at the Enchanted Valley and can easily repopulate! Plus, there are plenty of Centaurs on the Lumbridge battlefield, although they may be clones, but whatever. Oh, and they should result in a colonized society, with a Centaur Queen (the female centaur at the Enchanted Valley), kind of like an ant colony, except not insects.

I don't agree that 'kill everyone!' should be assumed to be the only solution to the Dragonkin situation, nor should it be pursued like this without even pausing to consider other options.

As for your second point, I checked the Wiki fansite's transcript for The Death of Chivalry just now, and Saradomin says 'near-extinction'.

The Dragonkin don't need killing, how Barbaric.

They must simply be calmed, controlled... Kerapac is a genius for his kind, look at that magnificent Dragon he has created from his own blood!

And Jagex have said We'll be with him in a quest.. perhaps we may befriend him?

Don't misjudge an enslaved race made to feel unfathomable pain and anger whenever someone uses the stone for unworthy means. It's not their fault at all.

Don't blame Jas either, she needed that vast artifact protected, and she did the only thing possible to ensure it's total security..

Note: Those Centaurs are confirmed to be Bree's armoured form. He has been cloned somehow.

Secondly, the race is near-extinction. Be happy Saradomin is bringing them back.

I think there might have been a misunderstanding - No one was suggesting killing the Dragonkin, Lethalintent. (Although maybe you haven't misunderstood at all - I'm not sure.)

Jamesedison1 said above 'If we want the Dragonkin problem gone, we'll have to help the dragonkin kill all false users, plus the other gods', and I took objection to this being treated as the only and natural course of option.

1: I didn't say everyone, just the gods that the Dragonkin hate. And I didn't exactly mean that I'd be killing the gods myself. I said I'd hellp them.

2: Well, dang. Still, there's no real need for the Wand of Resurrection, the centaurs just need to develop the same society that ants, termites, and na-ked mole rats have: involve a queen.

1: I wasn't talking about killing the Dragonkin, silly! Just the gods that they hate! If we kill/help them kill the gods they hate, then their anger will subside and become neutral again! However, we may try GIVING power to the Stone of Jas to help subside their anger a bit, too. Or help them restore their destroyed cities, towns, and castles, *cough*Daemonheim*cough*.
