Too many closed minds to listen I fear.

It's still worth a shot, in my opinion.

Its really dumb to begin with that all Saradomin's positive aspects or his side of the story is in Jmod quotes. They are nice and better nothing, but barely 10% of the population actually knows about them, and is Saradomin not deserving of in game content?

Very much so, but one could argue he's had 10 years of content, compared to Armadyl, who may as well be a newborn baby and the Godless, who are a newborn baby.

How did he have 10 years of content if the gods weren't even on gielinor?

Whilst the gods may not have been on Gielinor, the saradominist faction itself played a large role and general conceptions were positive. The player was usually aligned with the saradominst forces and out of all the factions, these have the most appearances. It is also worth noting that Saradomin is the only god to get a f2p quest.

Look at it this way - can you name a quest where Armadyleans play a large role? I can't, not a large role at least. You could point to Armadyleans having a smaller role in other quests, but again saradominists are in more quests playing smaller roles. The godless have zero.

You have to consider the groundwork when moving the story forward. Other factions have to built up the gods and the members of the factions whilst previous content has built up saradominists. Yes Saradomin needs content but in relation to other groups, has more set up.

Anyway its a shame the quest(ion) competition didn't allow gods but I will work on my Icyene suggestion in the meantime and hopefully an opportunity will come up soon. Any feedback would be welcome.

Will be posting some comments Mod Stu made about Sarasomin now.

I've enjoyed reading this thread. Some interesting theories about Saradomin's weakness, and the nature of the captured white knight's ill-fated expedition.

I’m eager to flesh out more of Saradomin’s backstory when Death of Chivalry’s sequel (or some other opportunity) is up to bat.

I’d like to take a more sympathetic angle to balance out recent character reveals, explore Saradomin’s vestiges of humanity, and give him an opportunity to present his side of events like the 'Garlandia incident'.

Certainly Hero's Welcome has introduced some intriguing plot threads that I'm eager to pursue, given the opportunity. :) I really like what Mod Wilson has in mind for the Queen of Ashes too.

First quote. I feel this addresses the main worries about Saradomin - future content will give us more backstory and showcase his positives. Also Hero's Welcome seem to suggest Kalibath will target Saradomin so there is at least 3 stories he could appear in so the future looks bright for Saradomin content.

Does that mean a Death in Chivalry sequel is likely to require Hero's Welcome? That seems a pretty big jump.

Could be resolved in a variety of different ways:

* Saradomin could be explored in a Hero's Welcome sequel, and not have any connections to Death of Chivalry
* Could be the third Experienced quest in a trilogy, requiring owen2 and Hero's Welcome
* Could also introduce the plot element of Saradomin's weakness in owen2, with the option to acknowledge your knowledge of it from Hero's Welcome, without a strict requirement
* Could jump to Experienced from Novice for owen2 (helps to reflect that there's been a delay since Death of Chivalry where Owen's been in hiding)
* owen2 could benefit from jumping a tier due to other requirements (eg maybe you have to get to the Enchanted Valley via the fairy ring network, so adds A Fairy Tale req)
* Or the plot thread might be left unresolved until later in the series

Until I know the release schedule for next year or more, I can only speculate. But my point is that we have plenty of solutions available.

Good to hear. In future content could some of Saradomin's attitudes, personality and behaviours change with further help from us?

I'm more inclined to offer choices about character development for someone with a finite quest series and less impact on the world stage, such as Sir Owen.

Having to write multiple versions of Saradomin's personality and dialogue each time he's needed in content isn't something I'd want to force on other developers. Especially when Saradomin's being used in content like world events that doesn't have quest requirements.

With Saradomin, it's more likely that you'd gain insights into who he is, where he came from, and the journey he's taken to get there, than get to choose how he thinks.

How does he plan on resolving the issue with the corruption that hinders his effort to use the wand of resurrection in order to bring back the centaurs? Also how would it work? Wouldn't most of the centaurs be decomposed by now and be skeletal remains?

I can't answer these questions without spoiling a lot of the plot elements I have planned for Death of Chivalry sequel(*). As much as it may be a long time coming, I'd rather you got your answers through progression of in-game narrative. But rest assured, leaving you with those questions is all part of the grand design. :)
