But on a more serious note, why would anyone actually sabotage Zaros? He has good intentions, even though he did questionable things, and he wants to stop Gielinor from being destroyed by the evil elder gods. He doesn't even want to be worshipped (unlike Saradork and the Usurper) and he wants the world to belong to mortals, like Guthix. He's clearly the noblest, most honorable, and most righteous god. How can you not side with something so good?
its never said zamorak wants to be worshipped, he is only amused by it and doesnt care much about it.

everyone got a reason to sabotage zaros. yeah he is a oke god but meh his talk is cheap, and i dont trust him.
and i dont pay that he wants the world fall to mortals.

and zaros is not the only one that can and will stop the elders.

Mod Raven did say in the Zamorak Podcast he wants to walk around and be like "Yes, I am the God" and be respected and feared.

imo that's worship...

I doubt he can fly with those wings... They look so stupid :P I can't stand them.

His wings really don't have much of a functional use. He's a combatant god, if anything they'd just get in the way. I don't know why Zamorak would want to have them, unless they're simply intended to make him look more regal and/or imposing.

And in the same podcast they said he's basically going to let us run things how we want. It's up to us to decide the type of world we want, what form of governance we use to run it, and who gets to be in charge. I imagine this is why they cited an element of freedom to his following.

It sounds like we're basically free to do whatever we want, but we have to face the consequences if it doesn't work-out too well. Though if things get a bit too stagnant or bureaucratic, he'll intervene, and I believe they also said he'd intervene if things got a bit too chaotic as well. So it's basically this mortal-run world, perhaps similar to how Zaros, Armadyl, and the Godless would want, except there's no pretense or conformity to consider.

And like any God (well, not the Godless, seeing as they don't have one to do this), it sounds like there's a threshold for when things get at least a bit too hairy, and the **** hits the fan. Generally the idea of wanting to be worshipped seems to apply more to the authoritarian types - Zaros in the past seemed to put emphasis on it despite changing now, and Saradomin's ideaology is deity-centric as I said before, and one that rests heavily on the idea of Saradomin being a directly-influential ruler. I suppose Seren may be more of the ever-present deity, but I think she'd just be around to be with her followers...though she'd probably attempt to govern them towards peace, so in some way it'd have that element of ruling (just towards a light-handed approach).

Realistically, I imagine all Gods at least liked being worshipped, whether or not their plans include hanging around to lay down their rules and whether they take the direct-ruler approach or the let-mortals-run-themselves approach.

In that case, Smurfdomin will rip them off! :D

I sabotaged him for several reasons.

1) He can and will limit mortal potential. In the Zamorak podcast, Jagex said all the Gods (except Zammy and maybe Bandos) limit the power of mortals and particularly cited Zaros of doing so.

He wants the world to fall to mortals, how's that "limiting your potential?" Because he's not Zamorak?

2) He told me his plan. What he didn't do is give me a reason to believe that it isn't poorly though out...cause honestly, his plan sounds terrible. How can he expect a group of Elders (who he admits would hate him) to suddenly listen just because he's an Elder God? They outnumber him and he isn't good at fighting, so they outmatch him too. It sounds like he's just speeding up the revision.

It's better than what the other gods have in mind. What's their plan? Oh yeah, they don't have one. A plan with little chance of succeeding is better than no plan.

He isn't good at fighting? He's a tier 2 god, he's stronger than all the other gods (excluding elders of course) combined; he can kick their ass six ways to Sunday.

3) I don't trust him. I don't care if he says he's not going to control us, I already know he's going to limit us and I see no reason to give him this power.

He trusted you, he answered all your questions and he did so truthfully and you repaid him by sabotaging him. What you did was bad and you should feel bad.

4) There's things about him that I simply don't like, his involvement in making the current vampire society, and how he's warped the Mahjarrat.

He helped the vampyres create a society, without him, they'd still be savages, ruled by their thirst. He did them a favor. As for the Mahjarrat, does this quote from Fate of the Gods ring a bell "Not all Mahjarrat chose to leave Icthlarin’s service, but the few that remained did not last long." The Mahjarrat race flourished under Zaros.

He was nice because he wanted a favor from you. He may not have directly lied (assuming that bit about not being able to lie wasnt a lie ) but he may have used lies of omission.

As for the Mahjarrat, after Tumken nuked them only about 100 or so remained. Not Zaros fault but that's not exactly "flourishing". The Mahjarrat memories do show that they didn't prosper in the Empire, life there actually kinda twisted them. They started indulging all their darkest desires, and the soft life really started to take its toll.
