Well, Icthlarin has been escorting the souls of the dead for a LONG time, certainly even when Zarosians were the most common kind of people. So the fact that he never escorted a Zarosian to their afterlife most likely implies they have someone else to ferry them to the other side.
My theory was that the Zarosian afterlife was actually the Shadow Realm, but Sliske has since then taken all these souls and made them into undead wights.. but your theories also hold much interest and likelihood. I applaud you. I'll have to look into this further...

I like this. The good thing is our two theories are not mutually exclusive. Remember that the underworld is separate from the afterlife. It's not impossible for the Zarosian souls to appear in the underworld, and then be picked up by the death demon network, as I have labeled it, and taken to a place where they would be transitioned into the shadow realm.
An interesting thing to note is the nihils. The Shadow Nihil is made from demon parts, suggesting an affinity for the shadow realm.
So there's a connection between the demons and the underworld, and demons and the shadow realm. You could be on to something...
You're missing the simplest explanation: the reason that Icthlarin has never escorted the soul of a Zarosian into the afterlife is because Zarosians don't have souls
.
But seriously, though - I find it really odd that Icthlarin didn't say anything about any demons taking souls from the Afterlife or anything, or ever becoming aware of the presence of a secondary Soul transporter. I guess that the secondary guy COULD be theoretically better, but it seems like the cop out. I really hate how the go-to is "Zarosians are just better at everything." And besides, Icthlarin is the God of the Underworld.
I think the souls that demons have on Infernus could be them stealing the souls of living beings through demon contracts, but I don't know how many demons end up sending contracts. Then again, it has been 2,000 years since the God Wars...

Perhaps in this conundrum, we will find that.. two heads are better than one? Maybe we're
both
on to something after all.

...When we are talking about cthonians as soul escorters, there is still a chance zarosian souls get eaten...
NO
I do not ship ZamorakxZaros.

First of all, technically we don't know whether or not he knows about other people who transport souls, Zarosian or not.
Secondly, it is quite possible that Icthlarin did mention the demons. The way I see it, there are two distinct possibilities.
1) Icthlarin lumped the demons into the same category as Amascut's beasts. The Avernic steal, and devour souls, perhaps the chthonians, if they are indeed down there, do too. They are doing exactly what Amascut wants.
2)The devouring beast are actually demons. Amascut has shown that she has the ability to control demons in the past, and demons are quite capable of shape shifting. All we know about them is that apparently Amascut made them. Amascut is not even a god, how would she even go about creating life?
Personally, I don't think a secret soul carrier makes it "Zarosians are just better at everything" scenario. In fact, the secrecy probably comes at a cost of efficiency.

Nezikchened, a demon from the Grim Underworld seemingly intent on terrorising the Kharazi Jungle. And hitherto unexplained.
Yeah. I mentioned him in post 6 and 7. I suspect he's addicted to souls as he does shoot up during the events of the quest. If he was addicted to souls, perhaps he spent a lot of time down there. Did they change the censors or something, mine looks like a pile of stars.
