Interesting how so many people are directing ill will and hate towards someone because they support a blue, pixelized character named Saradomin.

It's also interesting how angry people are over a virtual character.

I do not know why people would hate someone, call them an idiot, etc because they support a virtual character.

Change "enchant" to "manipulate", and it's much more clearly true. Whether she used magic or not can be debated with evidence either way, but there's no doubt their, *ahem* male decision making skills were effected by her, and Mazakon abused that knowingly for recruiting purposes.

I just like arguing. I'll admit it. Plus I like how the gods' philosophies are tied into it, and we wind up debating about those. While it's very enlightening to discuss morals, it tends to get people... livid. Headcanon Haven, where everything is made up and the points don't matter.

No, I have the right not to completely hate a stranger I don't know because of a virtual character and still have sane lore discussion.

I'd certainly be happier joining up in the world events if the recruiter was a cute girl in a cute dress instead of an ugly fat man.

Considering that back in the Godwars, the Zamorakian recruiter was instead a kidnapper who also specialized in torture, and not the good kind, I can see why Mazakon's plan worked

No, I'd have to agree with Icriulis on this one. The lore forums are for discussing lore, you can hate on the gods as much as you want but people shouldn't be directing personal insults at people and making fun of them because of their beliefs in a virtual game(shouldn't really happen in real life either). This happens to Saradominists most of the time. Arguing and debating is fine, but its getting out of control with the making fun of and name calling of people.

The kneejerk hate when Icriulis makes these posts is because he's spent the past week showing up in various threads about gods and making extremely condescending posts towards the people in them, proclaiming that he's beyond the god adjectives and insisting that he be referred to as a HUMAN BEING instead of as Saradominist.

The fact that he keeps saying that we should be debating politics or doing something in real world while frequenting ingame roleplaying and making these posts probably doesn't do much to help.

I SAY HYPOCRITE.

Yeah, I am a member of the RS roleplaying community. But here's the thing, I'm not calling people idiots because they support a virtual character. And what I meant when I referenced to politics was simply this: You guys are /acting/ like this is politics, personally insulting people like it. It might as well be a political discussion.

Being condescending and disparaging the individuals in the lore forum, many of whom are attempting to have serious discussions about the complex morality and motives of the various gods isn't the best way to not spite people.

As for the HUMAN BEING label, my issue with it is that it is useless. Unless you're skynet like Sarah, it is reasonable to assume that everyone is aware that you are human. We need more descriptive labels to properly classify the background and stance of an individual.

For example, I am a human. However, I am known by the rest of the world as an American. If I'm feeling charitable towards those who live in the same region as me, I might describe myself as North Carolinian. I am also Male, a College Student, and a Gamer.

Within Runescape, I am obviously The World Guardian, the Regent of Miscellenia, and a member of the Myreque, as are you.

Unlike you I am Godless, and a member of the Arcane Hunters, which admittedly is a dead clan. My character also has black hair, unlike you, who is a Blond.

I hate that ineffectual label of Human Being because it tells nothing of value, and as such is not worth using. It irritates me that you discard a label that serves a valid function under the pretense that it isn't real, when to your character, that label is a fundamental part of who they are.

You get off. You two are exactly the same. In this case, I'd agree with Icriulis except that he doesn't follow his own advice.
