Above the higher worlds, come the transcendent worlds. These are the worlds where the remaining elders combined energy with the now evovled Jas to evolve themselves and create an even higher tier of rune and world

Tarddiad - Soul: Bik's transcendent world and home of the elves. Everyone knows this place, made of large amounts of crystal it shines like a diamond in the sky, with beautiful silver moon and ring system. Also just after guthix's home world to further hint to their relationship

Hallow - Astral: Wen's transcendent world and home of the icyene, a mostly water world where saradomin made the heart of his empire. This world rotates very slowly, meaning 1 day is equal to 1 year, this indicates it is very close to its sun. Because of this, the icyene must continuously migrate across the islands to avoid the deadly winter of its night side. There is also a large sky island here called new domina, a huge fortress with a giant white tower which is saradomins main castle. This island rotates with the planet in such a way that it is always facing the sun

Cheanannais - Cosmic: Ful's transcendent world and easily the most complicated to explain. Cheanannais isnt actually the cosmic world itself, but was originally the moon of the cosmic world which was renmark. In the first age guthix discovered xau tak feasting on the planets core, he used the elder sword to cut him away but shattered the planet into pieces doing so. With the planet gone, the moon became the new center of gravity and so the fragments began orbiting around the moon instead as its new ring and pseudo-moon system. Infact i've mapped out it's orbital paths:

Cheanannais is homeworld of the fairies and pixies, around this is a ring system of cosmic dust which is the cosmic entities realm. Orbiting the moon is the fragments known as the enchanted valley (holding the court of spring, home of the ents and centaurs) and the land of holly and hawthorn (holding the court of autumn). Around the sun in long rotating eliptical orbits are the land of sunlight (holding the court of summer) and the land of snow (holding the court of winter). These orbits are made so every summer the land of sunlight comes closest to gielinors plane and the land of snow the furthest, and visa versa in the winter. Plus every spring and autumn, the 2 lands come closest to the land of holly and hawthorn for the ceremony of passing the seasons (in line with 2011's easter event). As some final notes, the impling home of puro puro is on cheanannias (they're another native species) and the shooting stars DnD that sometimes hit gielinor are also much smaller pieces of renmark shrapnel still flying through the cosmos, meaning the star sprites inside them are also natives of renmark

..::[ The Runespan ]::..

The runespan is a rather special and interesting place. Not a world or even a real plane, it is a giant nebula cloud of wild runic energy within the abyss. Many ages ago zamorak defeated the giant demon hostilus and chained him up between the stars in the abyss. A long time later, the zammy wizards of the first wizard tower made a contract with the demons to use hostilus as a conduit to funnel all future teleport spells through. The ingame location "the abyss" with the rc alter portals is not the abyss itself, but actually the insides of this giant demon chained up within the abyss. Same with the old failed teleport random event. After 1000's of years and countless teleport spells pass through him, a latent charge of runic energy began forming around hostilus's body, eventually creating the place we know as the runespan around him. In short the runespan is the left over charge of 1000's of years worth of teleport spells passing through the same point, and the still living body of hosiltus is still chained up in the center of it

Jagex once said this is probably somewhere in the balance plane but it was clear from their tone they never really thought about where it is before. I have given it a far better concept that ties up many loose lore threads together

..::[ The Balance Plane ]::..

This is the plane where the elders finally all recombined in the same location and once again attempted to create their perfect world. At first they created mazcab as the elemental rune from just their 4 elements alone. A world with extremely strong anima leading to elemental guardians to take form such as yakamaru and the 2 unused raids 2 bosses

Mazcab however was not quite good enough for the elders, and so they created 1 more world this time with the catalyst, this being geilinor and its moon zanaris. I've named this world the life rune because all jagex ever call it is "the balance world" which just sounds bad when everything else has a rune identifying it. The point of this world is to create the best anima and anima is basically just life energy, so the mythical life rune fits for the perfect world. Here the elders laid their new eggs in the north pole under what is now the rune essence mine in the acheron continent before falling alseep themselves in various locations around the world

The observatory and POH orreries show that gielinor's star system has 2 planets, one with 2 moons. We can then conclude that mazcab must be the 2nd inner planet because it is clearly a very high plane world due to its strength in anima, and it must be very close to gielinor because tuska physically traveled from there to gielinor and it didnt seem like tuska's attack on mazcab was that long ago when you visit there. Again the 2nd planet is something jagex is likely hoping to just forget about, but again i say use it. This is a far better design to say they didnt get the perfect world right the first time, it shows they where still growing and developing even at the end. Plus theres no other runes to label it with, has to be the elemental rune

..::[ The Spiritual Planes ]::..

All of that is just the physical universe, there is actually even more beyond that! As i said the abyss is basically a giant bubble dimension of empty space, sitting within an even larger emptiness known as the void. This is just a white empty void as far as can be seen. Guthix once used the elder sword to cut through the periphery (the border membrane between the void and the abyss), shattering the sword and accidentally releasing the void pests into the universe

Note, this is NOT a 3d representation. The 2d disc is the 3d universe, everything outside is extra dimensional beyond the physical (confusing i know). This is kinda like the spiritual axis

Beyond the physical universe are 2 spiritual planes. First is the spirit plane where the gorajo and summoning energy comes from. The second is the afterlife, and is where the spirits of living beings go after they die, the afterlife seems to be different for every person based on their beliefs. Running from the spirit plane to the afterlife, is the river noumenon, which passes through the physical universe. The point at which the river and the physical universe cross is the underworld and is the work place of death, icthlarin and amascut seen in nomad's elegy, with deaths office being the gateway from the physical universe to this inbetween place

Put simply, the river flows from pre-life, through the physical realm and onto the afterlife

..::[ Alternate Universes ]::..

We're still not done, beyond even this are entierly alternate universes! There are only a few we know of so far but there could be infinite for all we know

First is the main universe we know. Being a landscape of planets aligned to runes, this infact makes the whole universe a "rune-scape", this giving meaning to the games name =P

Next we have the dimension of disaster where you where never born, as such all the bad guys won in every quest. Because of this, there is a far higher death rate and not much life coming into the world, so it has a smaller spirit plane but a larger afterlife to show this. I've also named this as being scape-rune. When looking at scape rune you have to realise something, its just another gielinor that ended up differently, its not another world in the same universe but is clearly an alternate universe. I say its the dimension of disaster cus if you look at old random events like prison pete or popping balloons, they even look like they're in the dimension of disaster. Also i know jagex likely has no idea where to place this thing, so i say its the best design to link it to an already well established alternate universe and this is the best one

Lastly we have the dimension of the damned, only used for 1 failed event but i worked out something cool for it. This is a universe where the river noumenon fell apart, cutting the worlds off from the spiritual planes. Because of this those who die have nowhere to go and so just stay on the ever rotting world. Likewise with the flow cut off, the anima and spirit planes began to dwindle and stagnate, creating a truely dead and festering universe, the deadscape. Note i do know deadscape was some old private server or something, but i honestly dont care about that, its a cool and perfect name =P

You COULD put osrs here but they'd probably be annoyed at this. Plus personally i dont believe the 2 games should be seperate

..::[ Places not Known or Specified ]::..

Spider realm - This could be anywhere honestly, maybe a moon of one of the lower worlds like infernus or iaia?

Araxyte realm - Interestingly a menaphos lore book confirmed araxytes and spiders are completely seperate species. So they could be anywhere too. Maybe the forests of vampyrium, the ground level of naragun (leading to why the naragi had to settle above the tree tops) or perhaps they made home in the now toxic pools of yu'buisk (they dont seem to mind toxic pools)

Gorak realm - I'm thinking in the plains of jermyn with these, or perhaps iaia

Airut homeworld - Maybe jermyn or iaia aswell, or perhaps the ground level of naragun and when tuska invaded there is the moment they joined up with her?

Hati/skoll's realm - Definately thinking these could be from the spirit plane

Pocket Dimensions - These could include the rc alters and boss areas like the culinaromancers realm, these are tiny insignificant places specifically on gielinor itself and so do not show on the greater map

Well that should do it, hope you all followed along. Again all this is my personal interpretation of everything, like i said i've made changes here and there but after going through all the lore i feel that the changes i made where needed for the better, both in terms of making the lore work with very outdated pieces and making the lore design actually better as a whole

Infact i'm fairly sure i know that jagex's idea is that theres 1000's of worlds with a plane for each rune. However they dont have anywhere near the number of worlds for this plan and sadly at their current rate of content, likely never will. Plus i feel like they're still holding onto the old idea that "everythings a seperate dimension" which i feel is just a terrible design to avoid mapping it all out. This is the best possible model they could use, a plane for every tier of rune seperated by path. With this, they have a full set of worlds (1 for every rune) and pretty much every race and species can be placed somewhere on it. I feel like they should accept they likely wont ever get to their 1000's of worlds idea and just focus on expanding the 25 or so we have cus like i said, everything ingame is already placeable on this map

So whats everyone think?

One concern about the alternate universes section:

Was it ever stated that Dimension of Disaster and Scaperune are the same universe?

I ask because Dimension of Disaster is a reality based around the idea of the player never existing. Things still generally work the same there as they do in Runescape, but events have changed based on our absence in affairs.

Scaperune, on the other hand, seems to be a reality based around the idea of being 'opposite' to our own. Fish live in the ocean already cooked and must be uncooked if one wishes to obtain their raw forms. Evil Bob is a cat owning humans overtly, as opposed to being owned owning his humans covertly . Cats there speak what is Runescapian human language, while humans there speak another language that requires the player to utilize an 'amulet of manspeak.' The party room equivalent in Scaperune is a prison, complete with is own Prison Pete as opposed to our Party Pete (it's also owned by Evil Bob as opposed to Falador having been conquered by the Kinshra).

It seems to me at least that the two are entirely separate realities.
