So I asked on the Q&A why Zaros and Seren couldn't together, or separately, take issue if Xau-Tak were to ever do something unsavory and just wipe it out.

Apparently they're not powerful enough to do so. Concerning.

Xau-Tak was also referenced as a "They" implying two.

Xau and Tak?

"They" was probably used because Xau-Tak is genderless. I prefer "it" since it makes Xau-Tak seem more alien and incomprehensible.

The problem with the Xau-Tak doesn't exist/is a disease/whatever theory is that SOMETHING is hanging around the Eastern Seas resurrecting the dead and driving people mad.

And that could really be something other than Xau

Something that does what Xau-Tak does and yet isn't Xau-Tak? What would be the point of that?
You never were our brightest star, Khazard. 'Vermin slaughtered like lambs'? What does that even mean?

Given the pronoun choice I think it's far more likely that XT is something of a collective, like the Flood from Halo or something similar. Or, perhaps even more likely, any kind of pronoun choice is pointless since XT is just that alien. Might as well resort to Tumblr pronouns.

Technically speaking, it's possible for the events in the East to be caused by someone or something that's inspired by Xau-Tak without his actual influence, as per stand alone complex. Not very likely, though.

My personal best guess is that everything happening in the East is the result of Rabid Jack. XT itself (themselves?) is probably not an active force on Gielinor right now.
Patrolling Lore FC almost makes you wish for a Great Revision.

Maybe Xau-Tak is some kind of Hydra creature and that's why it's called they? Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

Xau-Tak is really powerfull tier V-1 according to recent Lore corner stuff. If you calculate this it will be tier 1, but they named it V-1. What if it is indeed two seperate entities, the sixth elder god (5 of form and one of something else) who was somehow combined with another being to this god? EXP is not important, it's important to have fun and play with your friends. :) - Lopendebank3

Any speculations on what Xau-Tak's alignment could be? Do you think its possible the Square Root of -1 in the answers for their tier could possibly mean something more than just a joke?

It could be a Joke, but it could also be real, they didn't say the tier of QOA. Is the Obsidian Tribunal related to Xau-Tak btw? Since he has something with obsidian pillars. EXP is not important, it's important to have fun and play with your friends. :) - Lopendebank3

It can't be a coincidence that Odd Old Man is in such close proximity to Tolna's Rift. Emotions don't just manifest corporeally into a hellish rift like that. Its completely different than Dream Mentor (which wasn't in the physical plane anyways). I'm wondering if whatever's in the Odd Old Man's sack is some kind of avatar or artifact of Xau-Tak. I don't think Odd Old Man is being controlled. He was shifty. He was aware what he was doing was unethical. Perhaps a follower. TFW You can't decide between support Zamorak or Zaros.

It was definitely a joke. They didn't reveal the tier of the QoA because they want to keep some things a surprise. It's unlikely that the Obsidian tribunal is related. The Obsidian Tribunal is the ruling body of multiple worlds and more likely linked to Teragard.

I think it's pretty much confirmed that the Odd Old Man was being controlled by an artefact related to Xau-tak. He also wasn't really doing anything unethical. All he wanted while being controlled were bones and there is nothing inherently unethical with that. As far as I'm aware, Tolna's rift is not related and is actually to do with Loarnab.
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend to be one of those deaf-mutes
