Has anyone tried coaxing any new dialogue out of the Ex-Ex-Parrot, possibly by taking it to different locations or using items on it? Given that the parrot seems to have been reanimated using Xau-Tak's power, it seems likely he'd be aware of the god's existence somehow. Mod Wilson mentioned that there are references he left in the game that are waiting to be discovered; I'm wondering if any of these references involve the ex-ex-parrot.
I have talked to the ex-ex parrot in various locations with no new dialogue, and have used him on quite a few NPCs (both inside and outside of the magical cage) without dialogue. I have tried wearing the black mask around as well, but nothing seems to trigger new dialogue for me.
I like this idea of Xau-Tak being the "Life-in-Death" figure described in the poem The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, which the ex-ex parrot strongly references and is strongly references in the pirate series in general. Also, I wanted to bring up the fact that prior to his initial defeat (before the battle of the archipelago and his attack on Mos Le Harmless) Rabid Jack was somehow able to occupy the region of the Cursed Archipelago, namely it is mentioned that the wildlife that normally plagued people who entered into that region seemed to avoid him. This is very similar to what happened with the Odd Old Man when he had the skull of the Skeletal horror, where it was noted the skull scared off lobsters and even pirates. Perhaps the monolith outside of the Cave Horror's cave was expressly meant to revive the Skeletal Horror when the time was right, and what do we know the skeletal horror to be missing that can be linked to Cave horrors, the monolith, and Xau-Tak? A black mask. Rabid Jack probably has it.

Could Xau-Tak be female? Kennith said at the end of Kennith's Concerns, "The Queen is coming for you, Player," and one of the dialogues for the ex-ex-parrot mentions it having a mistress. "Ye'll not know her, she lives in death." Xau-Tak also seems to be associated with parasites, so it would make sense if it was a queen of sorts that split herself apart in order to slip through the Edicts of Guthix.

1) That was in reference to the Sea Slug Queen.
2) I've seen no evidence thus far of a connection between the two.
3) As discussed earlier, Guthix's edicts weren't an automatic banish-all; they were a barrier meant to keep gods out. Guthix still had to personally banish said gods (as indicated by V when he explains leaving Gielinor). Thus, it's possible that Xau-Tak just wasn't strong. Alternatively, it could be that they're too strong to be affected by the edicts.
The point I'll give you is the parrot one.

Right now I'm trying to coax more information about these hidden references and dialogues out of Wilson or Raven, so that I at least have SOME idea what I'm doing.
I'd try taking the Parrot to somewhere we know is connected to Xau-Tak.. like maybe something to do with the Skeletal Horror, or to the Cave Horror caverns?

Has anybody noted the giant squid they had some artwork of during the Idle Adventure live stream that Sally had in her arms? (at 25:00)
Probably not Xau-Tak related, but still worth a mention.
I noticed it, and promptly headcanoned that Xau-Tak is a Karamthulhu.
Makes me wonder if we'll get any Xau-Tak lore in idle adventures. Highly suspicious that they made concept art of Sally with a giant Karamthulhu...
You never were our brightest star, Khazard. 'Vermin slaughtered like lambs'? What does that even mean?

Okay I'm not paying attention to anything. Somebody kindly explain to me what the heck Idle Adventures is?
You could google it.
Patrolling Lore FC almost makes you wish for a Great Revision.
Xau-Tak is C'thulhu.
C'thulhu is a Great Old One.
Xau-Tak is... a Great Old One? A new form of god perhaps? A being that isn't so much a 'god' as we see it, but a being of such immense power that it could be considered a god?
