No, I mean, her storyline mentions sea monsters that absorb the power of the Anima Mundi, and they get to giant sizes for so
Besides, I'd think Xau-Tak would look more fearsome and alien than a giant squid
Yeah, but the creature in question is a Karamthulhu, who are closely associated with the Pirate storyline and probably Xau-Tak too. One of them even claims to be a god.
So ***-Tak related the very least.
You never were our brightest star, Khazard. 'Vermin slaughtered like lambs'? What does that even mean?
So, the return of Xau-Tak is harbingered by a dead cave goblin located in a quasi afterlife created as a punishment for Zanik, and said goblin was unaware of doing so. It's pretty much established that Xau-Tak has a deep connection to (un)death and possession.
It's almost a shame that it's been confirmed Zaros/Seren are the only gods born as gods because ***-Tak seems so... Beyond any ascended being. I don't mean his power, he doesn't seem to be
that
powerful it's just his character and nature seems to be so... Alien, I suppose. It feels very lovecraftian to me, and not just because of the tentacles.

I have noticed your kind does tend to blindly stumble forward towards danger simply because it exists. What is your word for that?
I think it probable that Xau-Tak may have been a Karamthulhu originally, they certainly fit the bill of Lovecraftian. They're even named after his most famous creation.

I know the feeling but tbh I don't think that "confirmation" holds much water anymore. Look at Gielinor, he was essentially born a god. But even so, say the Tak man was a mortal, that does not mean he didn't always have that alien feeling to him. Imagine if say the grotesque, from lumbridge swamp, became a god somehow. It was technically mortal before hand, but its still very alien. There's lots of ways for Jagex to keep the integrity of the alienness lol. I wouldn't worry too much

Perhaps Xau-Tak is an avatar of Mah in some way? She was corrupted after being starved of anima when she hatched, so ***-Tak could be a representation of her corruption.

Booooooring. Karamthulhu plox.
Heck, there are flying squids in the East, those could easily be Karamthulhu or a subspecies, and one of them could have ascended ages ago. Wushanko is geographically close-ish to the Cursed Archipelago and by extension Mos Le'Harmless, after all...

Perhaps you're half right; perhaps we can't win. But we can fight.

Sorry, but even
I
disagree with this. If anything, Amascut would be a better representation of her corruption, but I also wouldn't say she's exactly that. The idea with Mah is that she would ***** out the potential for life, and Amascut devouring souls, preventing them from reincarnating, would suit that. But Mah's influence would be on life before it can truly begin, while Xau-Tak seems to control the undead. Xau-Tak manipulating life even after death only perpetuates a mortality that Mah would have never allowed to exist in the first place.
