Just going to point out anything that seems odd or factually incorrect:

-Wasn't TSP originally an FC as well for the longest time? Didn't this FC have an even bigger history and impact on the old lore community?

-Aegis of Saradomin is a new clan that was founded in 2016. In 2014, The Hallowed Order was the defacto Saradominist Clan, lead by Ascertes.

-Crystal Wings wasn't made "by 2014" technically. It was made in 2014.

-Flame of Chaos did exist...but at the time, we and Crystal Wings were one clan, the AZA. Eventually the Armadyleans left due to faction issues. Since there were so many different factions in the clan, and it was even an "alliance" between Zamorakians and Armadyleans, it was renamed.

-^ Before this, AZA was an FC and sorta played a similar role to what Lore FC is today. However it wasn't quite as united due to faction issues some players had at the time.

-^As another note, the Lore FC came after AZA split. Flame of Chaos, Crystal Wings, and The Hallowed Order created it in an attempt to put the past behind them. I believe Loopy and Aterivus were the official founders.

-While most faction FCs didn't get anywhere, I think it could be argued that the Zarosian FC made a notable mark of its own.

EDIT: Sorry if I confused you early with the FC's founding. The FC as we know it was founded in 2014. In 2013, the AZA FC was the place lorehounds would generally hang out in and mostly held the same crowd Lore FC has today, but there were some other areas as well (Zarosian FC for example).
Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

Thanks for this Hazeel. I'll wait until a few other people post (and hopefully add their own corrections) before I edit and or respond to some of your points. I'm too Unaligned to have a forum signature.

I did lead THO for most of its duration, but Mewzard was the original leader.
-Ascertes, King of all the Hallowlands and the Everchosen of Saradomin.

It was a great read and all, but does this actually have anything to do with lore? :P A

Only then can they

True Selph, but where else would I post this? It's made for people in the lore community to read. And besides, it's not like there aren't other threads that have nothing to do with lore here... *shifty eyes at lore fc thread* I'm too Unaligned to have a forum signature.

This is neat, Eren. I'll share some history I remember. (I don't mean to focus on myself, but I tend to remember the threads I worked on.)

I played from '04-'05 and then came back and got interested in the lore in the summer of '06. Back then there was FUN (I think #8 or so), as well as another lore community thread called Tales of Zaros. I followed both but identified more with ToZ. The ToZ thread was prompted by the release of the shadow robes miniquest; the thread's intro included a full transcript.

At the time, I think ToZ was the more purely lore-focused thread and more speculative and theoretical, versus the compilation of facts undertaken by FUN. ToZ went through 4 or 5 iterations (the first two led by Cypher Kain (now Raquel Maia)); the third was called Spirits of the Past (led by Cybi3 (now Selwyn)); I think the 4th and maybe 5th were called History of Gielinor or Lore of Gielinor (led by Windegorn). The ToZ threads were also frequented by Thormen to whom the first PFTH letter from Azzanadra was addressed - one of the earliest sources on Zaros.

Back then Jagex had a question query system, where players could ask anything they wanted and get a response from a random Jmod. We asked a lot of lore questions, and occasionally got some fun answers.

Probably towards the end of '06 or early '07, a couple more memorable lore threads emerged in the Future Updates Forum (where all the long-lasting lore threads were). I remember one, maybe called The Crystal City, that compiled everything we knew about the elves. I don't remember the name of the girl who kept it. Eventually Cunningfox12 from the ToZ thread took over the main series of threads on Prifddinas, Seren, and the elves.

I also started the Planar Theory threads in mid '08 (with On Metaphysics and RuneScape Natural Philosophy in '09) - it had begun on ToZ2 and with the support of Mod Raven through a query response. (I coined and proposed the name 'planar theory' in December '06). Zoinkwiz (now Sliske) tended RNP after '09.

My memory may be off here, but I think a lot happened in the summer of '13. Right around then, f2p were allowed to post on the forums (so I could post again). Also, Mod Osborne used the phrase 'lore hounds' on a podcast for the first time. As soon as I heard it, I posted a thread in the Future Updates Forum encouraging the lore community to rally together around our new name - regardless of whether my thread contributed to it, that was obviously a success. Factions also came out then (I posted a long poem in response, and a pretty fun exchange followed, all in verse, among me, Uni, and others). And, having just read Heidegger's "Origin of the Work of Art" for the first time (the best non-canonical text on planar theory I've yet to encounter), I posted Planar Theory in August '13.

(EDIT: This thread was also neat because Mod Rowley drew upon a discussion with players in the development of the characters of the elder goddesses.)
