Definitely Zanik. (the first few times I wrote it is was censored... zanik Zanik... not now, oddly... it was like *ani*)

There are a few others I sort of like, like Elena and Korasi. Don't ask me why I like Elena, I don't know either, and Korasi's too soldier-ish for me. Also, who's Astrid?

With Zanik, you've just had all these adventures... like... she comes to the surface and I remember her reaction to seeing the sun for the first time. And when she died and I was so sad and then she came back and it was the best thing ever. And her postbag letter she sends the player.
I sort of wish I could grab her out of runescape. Ofcourse, everyone would think me the most messed up person ever with my goblin wife, but oh well Carn

What I find funny is that no one in this thread has mentioned Whats-Her-Name from Ashdale, who is probably the only character in the entire game they actually deliberately ship you with. (The Miscellania marriage was purely political)

Oddly enough I've kind of fallen out of that. She's a great friend, but I just can't get over the sick Bandosian burn you can give her in Nomad's Elegy. Headcanon Haven, where everything is made up and the points don't matter.

Zanik fan club, assemble!


Her first visit to the surface was beyond adorable, buying buckets and newcomer maps in the general store and all that. And also a defining moment in her life, with us involved. She had so much dialogue after key points in quests she felt like she really was there adventuring with me, not just tagging along.

I love her postbag letter and Chasm of Lights and everything Zanik related.
Our obsessions are COMPLETELY healthy.


EDIT: I do find it hard to see it as a purely romantic type of love, it'd rather be an impossibly strong bond and friendship that is also love.
