I loved the quest and wasn't really expecting a lot of the turns it put me through. Naively I actually thought Vanescula was dead for a while there...
Nice boss fight and puzzle mechanics too. Thankfully I didn't need a guide for these. Though Drakan took me several tries.
You didn't burn Mieyerditch down like I wanted
, but I definitely enjoyed the storytelling with what happened to the Myreque. And hey, there's always the finale for the rest of Mieyerditch! *nudges*
"We call it being a hero"
It was made clear though examine info who's alive, and who's dead.
Vanescula didn't have her examine info changed to "She's dead" when the sunspear hit her. Only Drakan and the dead members of the Myreque got such examine info.
Safalaan's examine info stayed the same. "A tall, charismatic leader with an unusual appearance."
I also believe Polmafi is alive, he was merely smacked through the portal by Drakan, he may still be alive on Vamp**ium.
I will protect Gielinor. Zaros has no love for its people.
Basing such things on examines is a bit much imho. It's probably just the case that they didn't see a need to create another separate inanimate entity for Safalaan with its own examine since he dies right before you leave the area.
Pol*afi could be alive, but unlikely for long. Unless he gets together with that prisoner and they work together to get out- before the vyres come back for him.
"We call it being a hero"
Just finished the quest. Looks like I got some updating to do once everything's said and done on my end
Anywho...

Ya know, I completely forgot about Harlow. I always figured the reason he wasn't thrown in by this point was because his methods of killing vampyres were overwritten by the existence of the flail and blisterwood stuff, but maybe he'd be useful for a different vampyre centric quest later down the road.
I don't think the Myreque series "overwrites" Vampyre slayer. We all know that the rules change once you cross the Salve, and besides that, we don't know just
what
that stake Harlow gave us was made of. Despite Drakan's attempts to rein it in, Blisterwood has been around for a
very
long time...
That's actually a good point. Idk if Vampyre Slayer changed a whole lot from nearly 10 years back, but when I did it at the time I remember just being handed a stake and told 'just stab it with this when its weak or its dark magic will regenerate it to perfect health'.
So it very well may be that the stake was blisterwood, but even if it was, our fight with Draynor was a 1 on 1 thing against a
weakened
Vampyre. Unless Harlow has some more knowledge about what 'true' Vampyres can do at full strength that we haven't found out about yet, I honestly can't see him being that useful in the bigger picture of the series unless he sobers up enough to tell us in the first place.

But i'm quite confused by these Edicts the fool Roald and his overexited advisor keep spamming about in every turn. Weren't these the Edicts of Guthix? Or is there some saradominati edict within? Or did this quest happen BEFORE breaking of edicts? huh
^To be fair, I didn't see the note myself until checking up on the quest overview in the tab instead of what popped up as I started the actual quest. Could be I just missed it because I wasn't specifically looking for it, but it wouldn't be the first time a bug or something caused some information to disappear in some menus like that.
In other news, it seems that I somehow lost some documents I was recording during the quest last night. Does anyone have the text that appeared if we searched the bookshelves during the barricade scene? I'm specifically looking for the ones that mention Sliske's land deed from Drakan and something about Vampyres howling during a feast or festival or something to that effect (can't recall how it was worded tbh).

The one about Sliske's land deed mentions that Drakan and Sliske had come to an agreement that the Barrows would be Sliske's to use. It notably points out that you cannot find any mention of what Sliske gave Drakan in return.
