Interesting story ... now for the real questions:
Does this mean that Cres/Ipcress is Harold/Death's biological uncle?
Or did Harold/Death just use a form comfortable to Ipcress during his little test?

We know that the first person to die on a world, but they consider that world "home", they become that world's Reaper/death.

The first humans and other races to come thru the World Gate ,ight have liked Gilienor, but when they died, probably got carried away to their original home worlds.
It's possible that even 2nd and 3rd generations, after hearing tales of the "old world", may have still been tied to it and thus never considered Runescape their home.

But ofc, "Harold" may not actually be Death's original name. So the whole matter is moot.

Still, it does make sense for Cres/Ipcress.
We was a tinker of sorts, able to work with anything around him.
Nice to see that spirit and trait in a person carry on to them as a guardian.

@ Big Storms - I wouldn't say this changes anything we already know about Guthix and his awakening at the destruction of Forinthry. That was still the catalyst for Guthix returning and establishing the edicts.

A lot was deliberately left to the imagination, as filling in those gaps yourself is one of the joys of reading prose fiction.

The way I see it is that Cres is completely suffused and sustained by the Anima Mundi. What speaks to him in his dreams is a sort of echo of Guthix - a way for Guthix to work through his followers, and a fail-safe in case anything goes really bad. Remember - he believes that the gods shouldn't interfere with the world - including himself. Consider, too, his relative power - his awakening would be an absolute last resort for him.

For me, while Guthix may have had a modicum of awareness - even agency - while he slept, he was still definitely out of the picture. It took a truly cataclysmic event before he had no option but to step in himself.

But that's just how I interpret it - the cool thing about lore in a shared world like this is that it's everyone's , and we all bring our own take on the RuneScape world. What do you guys think? :)

I love that the Lores and Histories are back, but I only have one problem...the L&H page isn't exactly accessible...I was able to get to the page via links in the front page news post on looting mechanics, but when I searched around the site itself trying to find out how to get to the page without digging through news posts, I hit a wall. I don't see any way to access the L&H page, not even after looking at the L&H page itself to find a directory link or anything. Any way that we could get it added to the Game Guide tab so that we may find it again in the future?

@ Rabpyre - hmm - the Zamorak typo is already fixed, as far as I can see. Perhaps some manner of cache-based strangeness. Fixed the 'of' bit, though - thanks for that. :)

@ Defiantpawn - Duly noted - a more prominent link is something we can consider in the future.

Awesome! I love reading these and was very happy to see a new one. I hope this continues and as was said this does bring immersion into the game and make the world and characters seem more alive! Must have more! 10/10

I would really like a lore story behind the warrior who took out Vorargo. He's kind of in his own lore bubble right now and it would be really cool to learn of his past, especially seeing as he will be playing a huge role in the world event.
