It's purpose as travelling between worlds may seem a bit redundant with Guthix's Sparking Sword existing but it is an option. I think I might disagree...
Paraphrasing: Osborne said Ful learned of the Dragonkin of Jas and tried to build a different mechanism into the her sentient beings (no pain to motivate).
So... maybe 'Guthix's sword' might be an older artefact that was also a bit imperfect. The sword could be used to cut through dimensions, arriving somewhere, somewhat at random, while the Portal of Life/World Gate can be used more conveniently (and maybe even both ways).
My point: Don't dismiss it right away like that
It may be even more deep than you think

I have two ideas for Elder Artifacts
1. The Shield of Arrav. Powerful? Check. Not of this world? Check. Interacted with by us without knowing what it is? Check.
2. Zaros. Was created by the Elder Gods, was always a God, and isn't a world or a race, so what else could he be?
EDIT: Did more reading, turns out the shield isn't an artifact.

Shield of Arrav was the thing I wanted most to be an Artefact.
Well yeah but he isn't an Artefact surely just a god. That would count the Dragonkin as an Elder Artefact and potentially Seren.

Well yeah but he isn't an Artefact surely just a god. That would count the Dragonkin as an Elder Artefact and potentially Seren.
Good idea about Seren being an artifact! But even if he is, it wouldn't make the dragonkin an artifact, as they're sort of a part of one (the SoJ;s guardians), not one in and of themselves.
