Another option for Sliske's master would be Ikov. It seems likely that someone who the temple where the staff remained for centuries was named after would know a lot about it.

There also seems to be a connection between Sliske and Oreb (the book from Kindred spirits) and Oreb and Ikov (Fire warrior of Lesarkus). It isn't a character we have seen, yet exists for a very long time. Virtually nothing is known about him, so anything goes there.

Perhaps the sinister figure actually was Ikov and the robes he wears is just a Teragardian magister uniform. Explaining why Oreb would look just like him.

I'd be fine with Ikov. That would bring the story since Temple of Ikov full circle. Maybe Ikov is the Magister of House Lesarkus?
Well according to Mod Osborne, Ikov was a high-ranking follower of Armadyl (hinted to in the God Letters then later confirmed by Osborne, apparently). Though interestingly enough, any death that befell Ikov was never really hinted at, only his/her name.

I remember when Osborne answered that question on the identity of Ikov, and he REALLY looked like he was grasping at straws.

I think the real answer is that they hadn't yet considered it, Ikov was likely just a random name that popped into Paul Gower's head, and "high ranking Armadylean" is just the standard, git-r-done response to "who's this Armadylean Temple named for?"

While I still favor Dragonkin/Kin co-conspirators for Sliske's "master," a figure actually involved in guarding the Siphon for millenia (Lesarkus or Ikov) would probably be the only non-Elder/Kin force that could very acceptably know more about this artefact than the gods.

So in very board terms, Sliske's master could be…

- A Dragonkin
- A Magister
- Either an Elder God or someone working for them

And I do believe that Osborne was grasping at straws, although he would certainly be basing it off of things that make sense. Though I do realize that, if Ikov has an allegiance to Armadyl, it wouldn't make sense for him to align with Sliske about this, and if Ikov is a Magister, then he'd also be split between Saradomin and Armadyl. Would a Magister go against Saradomin? They did talk in the Lore Corner about how the Magisters worship an image of Saradomin, and that image is likely totally different from Saradomin as he actually is. So a Magister could potentially see Saradomin for who he really is and get disillusioned.

Ikov had a temple of Armadyleans dedicated to Armadyl for a reason...
Unless he went insane a bit later? It might even have been part of a plan to get rid of Lucien as well as the gods.

Oreb can't be Sliske master.

At Ourania altar, Oreb said how he found life and soul beautiful or something similar.
Sliske's master, found beauty meaningless.

Sliske:
It's beautiful isn't it!

[Mysterious voice]:
Beauty is meaningless.

Sliske:
Oh come now, that's not true. Beauty makes the world bearable; without it, life is grey and empty. It evokes pure emotion. True beauty can bring empires to ruin or inspire the most evil men to heroic deeds.

[Mysterious voice]:
This conversation is irrelevant.

Plus, if Oreb is Sliske master, why did he needs Sliske to gather all the gods in one place. Gods don't have souls and they have divine energy instead.

[Mysterious voice]:
Enough! This will bring them?

Sliske:
Oh yes, very much so. The siren song of the Stone will bring all of the gods together. It will be a gathering like no other, a monumental occasion that everyone will yearn to observe.

The wiki shows Grayzag with the same model (more or less) as Oreb in one the Void quests. Probably irrelevant, but just thought I'd mention it incase someone wants to come up with a Grayzag = Oreb conspiracy *drinks gnome tea*. I'm too Unaligned to have a forum signature.

So your two points are, Oreb in the past specifically mentioned finding something beautiful, and then his master deliberately says something to contradict this? Seems suspicious.

As for your second point, you can't use it as a fact against. We truly don't know why he'd want to gather the gods, That's part of the fun.
