I was going to make a thread discussing the Teragardians on Gielinor but this thread works.

So far we have Magister Oreb and a member of House Lesarkus on Gielinor. But why are they here? Why is a random Teragardian guarding the Staff of Armadyl? What are Orebs plans? Are they here because Teragard is a terrible place to live in? Are there more Teragardians on Gielinor, perhaps watching us?

I'm betting Endgame will shine more than enough light onto Oreb.

Teragard is a cold cruel world, I'd certainly leave it for GIelinor.

I hope there aren't more, One mastermind is enough. Although once all is said and done, I would certainly have a word with that disgraceful group of Magisters.

While we can gather that Oreb is not only a Magister, but a pioneer with resources and a mindset that values personal advancement over societies moral standards.

Who is to say Oreb's progression with the soul was entirely his work? He has access to the Schism and may very well have traversed the planes and been granted his power and knowledge through foreign interactions.

Immortality through soul invading has been done before by Fulmin in 'A Return To Stone'.
This ability was apparently bestowed to him by a demon.

But now that we know Oreb is alive, and his journal was at the brink of turning to dust as we read it, it becomes clear to me that he did indeed figure out how to transfer ones soul to another host.

Namely his own. Which is why he survived his assassination attempt, and by the condition of his notes, beyond that of a normal humans lifespan.

I wonder..

Sliske was tipped off about the Staff and what it can do with souls by his Master, yet his Master named it in mortal terms..

Very interesting indeed. Very...sinister indeed.

Yeah, this has me suspecting that Oreb might be Sliske's master. It would be ironic that Nomad would eventually end up being serving Oreb again in one way or another. However, I get the impression that the master is meant to be someone who was already around prior to Kindred Spirits, but since that quest was Oreb's introduction, I don't think he fits.

We know that there are seven Magisters. I wonder if there's a new leader of House Charron.

By the way, did Nomad's claim about something with a sapphire to the west, where it is always night, mean anything? The clue about going to the east was meant for Aubury, but it seemed like that particular hint pointed in two separate directions.

Considering how the White and Temple Knights influenced Nomad, I wonder if Sliske turning Nomad into a wight will be followed by sending Nomad against Saradomin in that labyrinth in the Endgame.

What sinister figure? Runescape doesn't need a hero...it needs a villain. An all encompassing force of evil that will remain ever-threatening and use chaos to make the peoples of Gielinor tolerate each other, grow strong together, and fight side by side against this evil. I am that villain.

He acts like Sliske for the TWW teaser, get too close and he'll vanish before you get a good look. Camera tricks and Orbs are encouraged to be used in order to get a proper look.

I'm wondering if Oreb may be the Psychopomp of Teragard. He's long "lived", obsessed with souls, of house "charon" which is the one that ferries souls across the styx in greek mythos, and looks very death-like. Harold seems to stay out of general society in Gielinor, but we know nothing saying that Psychopomps can't be ranking members

Yes he was one of the leaders of Teragard

Suddenly I'm a lot more interested in the Endgame.
Mr. Blue Man owes us some answers.

I doubt Saradomin knows anything. He hasn't had any contact with Teragard in a long time http://www.webcitation.org/6O30HMlgN. Hell this guy seems to have Big Boy Blue on his list of targets, along with all the other gods. The magisters run the place now, and it looks like they have their own goals and ambitions now. But it doesn't look like this guy wants to be a god...
We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm.
