A few thoughts on the finale. Not happy its been released - pleasing the same crowd twice whilst denying any of those who didn't vote for Myreque to suffer again. I was fine with Lord of Vampyrium as it was a waited for update that won a poll. Democracy, you can hate the results but there’s a chance it goes your way. Absolutely against Rivers of Blood, rewarding the same people twice and denying others the chance that Myreque got on its poll. Gnomes, Pirates, Rite of Passage, Floor 61 - all have been waiting for a chance yet the poor decision is made to reward the same people twice. Awful and I don't buy the momentum or graphics arguments. Doing this delays something else. The Myreque were deemed to need a graphical rework after 4 years, this decision has pushed Death of Chivalry into that territory - its just moving problems around.
As for the plot, I’m in two minds. All the irrelevant characters have been killed leaving us with not great but reasonable characters (and Vanescula), the plot has been set up and its a finale so whatever the quality means some resolution & hopefully closure. On the other hand, that “mysterious stranger” plot is going to come off cheesy and Vanescula I cant see coming off as a realistic threat physically or logically. She is smarter than the Myreque but no one else, we’ve seen her utterly outclassed by Drakan - how can she prove a greater threat? Also there are still some plot threads which may be poorly resolved like Calsidiu was. I suppose my hopes for the finale is to not mess up anything with potential a.k.a leave Malak out of this and properly end the series. No more Myreque. Lets move on - its taken seven quests, it shouldn't take anymore.
