Fate of the Gods. It is getting really tough to define a favourite, which is awesome, but Fot* somehow managed to outdo what RotM, WGS and TWW did. Yes!

I tried to list my favourite quests, it was really difficult, except for the number 1 spot.
My top-12 favourite quests:
1: While Guthix Sleeps
So much better than any other quests, only quest that truly deserves the grandmaster title imho.
2: The Temple at Senntisten
3: The Chosen Commander
4: Ritual of the Mahjarrat
5: Blood Runs Deep
6: One of a Kind
7: Do No Evil
8: Desert Treasure
9: Darkness of Hallowvale
10: Underground Pass
11: The World Wakes
12: Fate of the Gods

I find it difficult to rate both TWW and FotG. I think these are good, but when I played them I was kind of disappointed. The death of Guthix and the return of Zaros really deserved so much more.

I have the feeling I keep forgetting quests while making the list, so it will probably change.

The most challenging quest I've ever done was EW3. It took me almost an hour to figure out how the damn machine worked. Then about 2 hours to actually figure out how to actually make the machine end up in the correct position. Then an hour to actually input all my solutions.
I know a lot of people will think I'm crazy, but as a mental challenge (something I relished in during its release). I actually enjoyed it immensely. However, I cannot vote it as my favourite quest of all time as it didn't have any lore or anything actually outside of the puzzle.

My favourite series is the Pirate quest series. The main reason behind it is that all the other quest series take themselves quite seriously. We're always in serious mode. Sure there's the occasional funny line here or there, but largely they're not funny. (The penguin quests are also an exception, but the most recent ones Some like it cold and The hunt for red raktuber just feel like a let down comparative to the earlier quests imo)

The pirates however, just seems to be Jagex's way of venting stupid yet somehow believable storylines and scenarios. A giant parcel outside our house containing a huge deadly enemy who proceeds to wreck my house? Firing ourselves from a cannon? Shooting and pillaging other ships? Getting a seagull to drop bombs on our enemies? That awesome ship battle in clockwork syringe? Breaking in to prison? ZOMBIE PIRATES??? The fact our player keeps talking like a pirate and the songs by Bard Roberts. Ahhh they're brilliant.

Plus my third favourite pet (The Ex-ex-parrot, after the two Phoenix types).

So, picking from the pirate series here. Its either Clockwork Syringe for its amusing storyline *or* Cabin Fever for the ever awesome ship battle.

Drumroll please!
*Drum rolls past me*
... Not like that you idiot!

*Actual drumroll*
And the Winner of Oiz's favourite quest goes to....
*Opens envelope*
CLOCKWORK SYRINGE!!

YARR!! Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of Braindeath "rum"
If you only do what you can do, you will never be more than you are now.

SPOILERS BELOW:

Fate of the Gods (minus dialogue):
1) Unlock the World Gate
2) Do the Freneskae agility course and get crystals
3) Do the mini door puzzle
4) Kill Nihils
5) Kill Muspah
6) Collect Mah energy

*sigh*
I ranted about this before in this thread, but I must say it again. STOP CONFUSING GOOD QUESTS WITH LOREGASMIC QUESTS. I said it when MPD came out, but no one listened because of the "short term if I like a recently released quest it's my favorite of all time" disorder. But now that it's been a while since MPD came out, I think it's fair to say it was a plain awful quest. Yes, Fot* had excellent lore, and probably is in my top 10 quests - but the best quest? I don't think so.

Speaking of disorders, I would like to switch from "One Piercing Note" to WGS. For a while I didn't chose WGS because of the "Wait - is it really my favorite quest, or do I only consider it so because others do?" disorder, but after watching a huge chunk of quests in Robo's GQM, I realized that WGS really is the best, and I probably enjoyed it as much when I did it.

Sorry if I offended anyone, or sound elitist or something.

STOP LIKING WHAT I DON'T LIKE!

Moving on from whinge*, my favourite quest would have to be
The Branches of Darkmeyer

(I wanted to post my reply a few months ago, but I wanted to make sure I had gotten my quest cape so I could make a proper decision :P )

There are some really, really great quests to choose from such as While Guthix Sleeps, The World Wakes, Do no Evil, The Branches of Darkmeyer, The Chosen Commander, and many more.

But I really think that The World Wakes really stood out for me. It was a really powerful quest. While it didn't necessarily have the difficulty and length of While Guthix Sleeps, it had a more emotion and depth (for me anyway).
Guthix's death really had made a difference. I feel that it was perfectly executed (the music, and Guthix's dialogue really did the job). I just feel like no other quest brought that kind of emotion and depth. It was also the quest that really started making the player think about the direction they wanted the world to go in (I spent a lot of time thinking about which choices I wanted to make).

But While Guthix Sleeps is a close second. It was an all-round quest. It had puzzles (puzzles that actually make you think), combat, length, emotional depth (The scene where the heroes died was tragic!), and most of all, it brought in a whole lot of lore.

So my favourite would have to be The World Wakes, but While Guthix Sleeps is a close second. :)
