As expected, there are a few people who voted for MPD.

I feel like people are confusing what it means to be "the best quest", and what it means to be a "lore/legendary character-heavy" quest. Honestly, I feel like the only reason people voted for it is because of all the fancy appearances. Take that away, and you're left with a shallow, boring quest. Samwell didn't contribute anything, the Death Kidnapping seemed almost tangent. The puzzles were boring, and the combat was seriously broken. It was pretty short, and let's not forget: was a novice quest.

But alas, what can you do. It is not the least bit surprising that While Guthix Sleeps, The World Wakes, and Ritual of the Mahjarrat are on the top of the list. The title of the thread really should be changed from "The best quest ever" to "The most legendary quest ever", which quite frankly wouldn't spark that much discussion or disagreement.

I agree that Missing Presumed Death was, to a degree, very boring. In the past, seeing a Mahjarrat or a god or someone like K'ril Tsutsaroth in a quest was actually special and kept you on the edge of your seat. In MPD, however, all gods, Mahjarrat and GWD generals are just thrown together in one place as if they were common goblins one can just use without any problems. Basically, I felt nothing doing MPD, whereas WGS, which had only one Mahjarrat, gave me (dem feels)². Honestly, if gods and Mahjarrat etc. are being made so everyday and common that they can all be thrown together in a novice quest, I honestly don't know if quest characters will ever manage to excite me again. :(
Bizarre Boron Fusswell, scryer extraordinaire. OSRS: POH ideas & RS3 minigames & achievement ideas !

Perhaps you're half right; perhaps we can't win. But we can fight.

I was openly against MPD when everybody loved it, for the same reasons people are still saying. Join: July 2005 | Member 1: October 2005 - February 2007 | Member 2: April 2007 - Present

Do No Evil was my favorite. It was, in my opinion, the last oldschool quest because of its difficulty. None of this no required items, one area, fewest possible quest reqs, easy bosses, NPC hand holding easyscape stuff.

I liked how well it fit with the desert storyline (we meet a god and worked against Amascut like in Ithclarin's little helper) while still putting monkeys in the desert.
