Hi Unicornz pwn

A couple of your posts have been hidden due to use of an incorrect version of a name to insult a person posting. While it is fine to debate an issue, it's not ok to get personal and insult the people debating the issue.

I'm really pleased to see that most of the people in the thread understand this already and are debating the issues without insulting others. This thread makes an interesting read.

Yeah. This wasn't surprising at all. Am I really the only one who remembers the Aviansie lore with the gay spirits?

I wouldn't be surprised at all if all the Aviansie (including Armadyl, of course) were bisexual.

And I totally agree with everything Ascertes said. This may have been the best way I've ever seen a gay character introduced, and Armadyl is the first gay character that I've seen in a long time that isn't in the story just because he's gay. Well done Jagex! Makes up for that elf fiasco..
To those cursed by war and pest, Come into the light of Armadyl and rest. This is the law of Armadyl.

Armadyl is a good example of how LGBT+ characters should be represented in fiction. He doesn't go "oh btw i'm gay", he just talks about his deceased husband. The fact he was a guy married to a guy isn't treated as anything unusual.

IMO, the sexuality of a character in a story not set in a "real life" setting really shouldn't come up unless they are in a relationship (or are looking for one, or a past relationship is referenced). Because otherwise it's irrelevant to the story.
You never were our brightest star, Khazard. 'Vermin slaughtered like lambs'? What does that even mean?

What do you mean? All the LGBT characters in the game have been expertly placed with their sexualties contributing to the narrative.

The two forgotten warriors in the Vengence Saga were important because their relationship formed the basis of a moral choice in the game. The love between them is subjectivly valuable to each player, and depending on how valuable it is to each player makes it that much harder to do the "evil" choice. Tbh the first run through I didn't even know they were both male, they have helmets lol, i only noticed their love.

Zanik is bi, which allowed for a greater amount of players to bond with Zanik is a more "intimate" way which would cause the story to mean that much more to players. Now I'm not saying that everyone bonds to Zanik more "intimately." I certainly don't bond that way to fake characters, but a lot of people do so it's a good way to make people more passionate about the story.

The fremmy prince and princesses are the same deal with Zanik.

Angolf is really well done because it was a really good way of showing how the shapeshifters had complete control over their bodies. Such to the extent that they could control their bodies not just to pursue temporary goals, like the mahjarrat , but to be used to fill in the holes they may feel are missing from their life.

Make-over mage makes tons of sense because it shows exactly how the fact that the player can alter their sex even makes sense.

So yeah, Jagex has done a very good job in introducing the character so as to not make them token characters.

Except Saradomin. He should be put to death.

Marry me.
Can't wait to put the factions which have an advantage "to death" then, especially yours when the Queen of Ashes arrives who clearly hates him. Only Saradomin will be left alive.

Looks like you're in need of correction again little man.

The Queen of Ashes doesn't hate Zaros. Well, she might, but just because her Emissary does, does not mean she.. wait, DID YOU JUST SPEAK FOR HER? YOU SEXIST SCUM. 50 LASHES FOR DARING TO SPEAK OUT OF LINE, SUBMISSIVE.

Mockery of you aside, Saradomin doesn't play nice, we've seen this time again. She doesn't seem the type to peacefully co-exist, Please livestream the Quest we meet her in. I want to see your hopes and dreams crumble.

No. The characters have the right to not to like whoever they want to. And if we were able to romance whever we want to, that would be weird

Characters don't have rights: They don't think :P

But anyway, I don't think this is an argument either of us can win, because its purely down to preference. A subjective. Subjectives cannot be facts ;)

While I don't have a problem with it, it doesn't magically make me like Armadyl. He's still just a weak chicken who displays no leadership qualities outside the realm of naivety and make believe. Honestly I don't even think it's worth special attention. He's gay? Ok, big deal. I find it undesirable to slippery slope into making an ideal propoganda-esque. As if 'straight' beings were implied to be lesser than because they aren't in the trendy group. The efforts are in vain. In an attempt to be more inclusive, the new group eventually slips into its own version of exclusive.

For example, imagine the scenerio of jagex releasing a lot of green capes. People like these capes. They pubically state, "it's so good they're making these green capes, they're so advanced and further down the road(than other capes)." While there's nothing bad about these green capes, it's just annoying to hear its horn tooted all the dang time.

To be fair, I don't think anyone is implying that they think straight or gay characters are better or less than the other, some just hold the idea that increased diversity provides a richer blend of characters.

No one thinks being gay or straight is akin to being in a special club if that's what you're getting at.
