Thanks to POHs and things like the pool of rejuvenation and a teleport to almost any area in the game, summoning would not balance well with the current osrs dynamic. Banking almost anywhere is already insanely fast. Summoning changed pvp entirely, as well as PVM. Yaks changed banking, most minigames, anything wilderness related, etc. Summoning was very OP, and coming from someone with 99 summoning in RS3, I prefer not having it. It was okay back then, but the charm system was awful.

The basic idea behind balancing new content is giving players that don't enjoy it an option not to participate. You can't really compete without summoning if you don't have it.

Summoning is at least 100x better than this Sailing "skill" idea that just won't die.

The guy above me is right in that BoBs made the game less tedious. It also would remove the need for runners/alts in most cases. Combat familiars were also hella fun to just mess around with at certain content. Like taking a steel titan to mole etc. They weren't only combat oriented either. BoBs could be used to skill (mine 2x as much before banking) etc, making the game less tedious with just walking to and from banks.

The real issue a lot of people seem to have was in getting charms and I think that can be remedied even tho I personal had no issues with it.

Yeah, alts are more OP than Summoning ever was.

Everything that people say it would trivialize has already been trivialized by other things.

I mean, now you can just 3 shot KBD and completely steamroll Jad because of how busted the current weapons are.

Its really interesting to me that the community openly welcomes power creep as long as the item that is doing the power creeping is "OSRS original content".

I mean, sure. Some of these things are just as bad as stuff in RS3 but we're cool with it because its not Summoning.

They have to poll it, what the 0,3% of the community that says No in forums doesn’t represent the 99,7% of the whole osrs in game that doesnt even bother checking the forum.
If they poll it. i’m 100%.certain it will pass, just like how soul wars passed.
Remember soul wars? Everyone said no, then they finally polled it and it succeeded with a wopping 80%

I liked summoning in the old game, but now I just don’t feel it would be a good copy over without massive reworks and a re-imagination of the skill. I do feel however osrs is definitely due a new skill asap.

You are comparing end-game, highest-tier weapons to mid-level bosses... Have you done the inferno? Theatre of blood? End-game content is much more difficult now, and thats why end-game weapons are powerful to match it. Summoning is a skill accessible to all players, making the entire game easy. Twisted bow is accessible to the players who grind 1 billion gp and reach end-game content. Huge difference.

As much as i like summoning as well, sadly i have to agree with the above. I have to say no on this as well. The creatures were cool. But in my opinion summoning ruined the combat aspect of the game. The was another huge decline of the population in Runescape.

Had to sign in on a random computer just to say NO no no no no no no.
Did I mention NO? Because no. Summoning was broken the day it released. It made skilling and PVM easier. It broke PVP, and introduced some of the most broken mechanics the game has ever seen. It was a reason I quit EOC just put a nail in the coffin. They start adding this garbage back im out
