Please disregard the requests for GE and EoC updates. These were already discussed months ago when Jagex reinstated the '07 servers. They said that graphics/GE/EoC post-'07 were not in the spirit of Old School Runescape. Is everyone forgetting that there is now RS3 for those things? If we ruin this, there will Never be another Old School Runescape, and many people, especially myself, will be very disappointed.
To those who are claiming that post '07 graphics will bring in more players, I would like to ask, "Did those graphics bring in
more
serious members after '07?" I don't think they did. For those that desperately want the HD graphics, I would point you towards the RS3 main page, or, maybe it's possible that many players looking for 1080p photorealism are more inclined to look towards Crisis, PS4 and Xbox One games, anyway? I've played RS because of the world that I was welcomed into the first time I left Tutorial Island, because of the world that I set out to explore with friends, and because of the world that I became thoroughly immersed in and have never been able to stay away from after over a decade.
To those that have grown bored with the content that is available and are seeking these updates, I will warn you that updates like these will likely offer no relief to your boredom. Only new content will be able to fix this problem. In many RPGs, people who grow bored just make a completely different type of character. It may sound drastic, but actual role-playing might be a possible solution, as well. Player interaction has also kept me from growing bored for many years, and it is something that many have lost sight of as they sought to max every skill and reach the maximum number limit for their gold in the bank. Sorry for the wall of text, but I felt it had to be said.
