Prompting Event
There is a /r/2007scape suggestion from post iw8275 that I wanted to bring to your attention! While I am not deathruby89, I like their idea.
Context to other City Updates
Personally, I like how Mahogany Homes brings new life (increase (player travel throughput)/(per location * per hour)) to existing dead content like NPC city houses. Would this idea be a good/okay/bad implementation and use of resources to bring additional player traffic to NPC bars and pubs?
Besides bars and pubs, furniture could be added around Gielinor to draw more attention to previous neglected locations or improve already high traffic locations like the GE and some banks. The GE floor is empty, so adding furniture might liven up the place.
User Story
As a player, I would like additional usable, interactive furniture in new locations so that I can have a more immersive and social experience than sitting in POH.
My 2 Cents
In a role-playing game, additional interactive can improve immersion. Sitting in chairs appears more immersive since people can sit in chairs in real life.
Challenges and Required Work
All benefits have costs. This update would require you to replace existing in-world furniture models with POH versions of furniture models. Some furniture models have no POH equivalent and would require engine work. Implementation could choose to leave out furniture models that have not already been released to production with sitting for POH. Use same mechanics outside POH and inside POH. Consider implementation a sliding scale of only stealing sit-ready models from POH to creating new "sittable" furniture models for every location in world with a spectrum of some borrowed and some new models.
