OSRS Dev Team,

I've been meaning to reach out to the dev team to offer input on my osrs experience, specifically my perspective on FP2 multi-pking. I've been a runescape player for a decade now and F2P multi-pking has been at the core of my enjoyment in the runescape experience. F2P multi pking offers a thrilling and competitive game experience that is relatively straight foward to new players and is rewarding to those who develope their skillset in this feature of the game. It is an incredibly versatile piece of content that can range from pking with random players you spontaneosly meet in the wilderness to organized clan fights as an unofficial sport. This sub-community within the game has survived mostly through the strong bonds amougnst players in F2P clans who are dedicated to creating multi-pking action in the wilderness. As oldschool runescape grows, we want this part of the game to be sustainable, something that all new players to experience, and continue to improve with support from the dev team.

Recently with the addition of a F2P PVP world, regular W308 multi-pking was killed. One could no longer showup to varrock ditch, teamup with a few strangers and attempt to conquer the wilderness. My theory to why this happened: out of curiosity for the newly added PVP world, F2P pkers began testing out this new world. This temporarily shifted the multi pking action from W308 to W417. Unfortunately, the expereince in W417 did not prosper. The easy access to banks, less dynamic combat range restrictions, and annoying 1 itemers are a few reasons why. Since this shift of action to W417 occurred, it was difficult to send a signal to players coordinating a shift back to W308. If you showed up to W308 and saw no one, you simply thought W308 multi-pking was dead. Given the current environment, it had to return in an organic way. Thankfully it appears to have been revived with the influx of players from mobile release. Hopefully it can sustain its revival.

Part 2 of 2

The point I want to make is that F2P multi-pking reached a stage where it was difficult for players to participate in this aspect of the game. Had mobile not been released, W308 pking would have only been for the organized clans that schedule fights and not an experience for newcomers or players outside of clans. In our opinion, that dynamic is unsustainable for this game-play. Instead of relying solely on the dedication of clan members and the organic support from players, F2P could use some acknowledgement from the dev team to help direct action to W308 and improve the F2P multi pking experience. We want ways for new players to be encouraged to seek out the wilderness and see in-game content to make F2P multi-pking seem more official.

A few content ideas:

Poll the clan clan camp content that was added to Runescape in 2011. The clan camp content gave a more official feel to clans with a more exclusive clan chat and customizable cloaks that offer a distinguishable brand to each clan. Players can walk around in-game representing their clan and more easily identify their opposition, enhancing rivalries and increasing pride in one's clan. The clan cloaks also generate interest amongst players without clans to gain acceptance with a group of their Runescape peers.

F2P multi-pking tournaments:

F2P multi-pking is incredibly exciting and requires a lot of organization and skill to be successful. There are already established competitive clans and it would be amazing to see their skills showcased in an official event.

I believe it's time to reintroduce the sailing skill to the community. The sailing skill was first introduced over 3 years ago when OSRS was still in its infancy. Back then, the player base was exceptionally stubborn. Players feared major changes, which prevented many great ideas from getting implemented into the game. Unfortunately, Sailing was one of these great ideas that was rejected. However, despite the newly introduced skill having all odds against it, Sailing still managed to pull in 68% of the vote, which was 7% away from getting passed. At the time, these numbers were astounding due to the fact of how stubborn the player base was. In conclusion, I believe Sailing deserves a second chance at the polls. The OSRS community would love to see it happen. Thankyou.

I would be nice to have the ability to customize our forum avatar like RS3 player do.
I'm sure it's not that difficult and It's a neat way to personalize your posts in the forums.

Change the Shaman Mask from a iron helmet re-skin to a mid-tier magic armor.

The Shaman Mask from the Ogress Warriors/Shamans is for free-to-play players a late game content. With a combat level of 82 they are one of the strongest F2P enemies. But the reward is currently just a re-skinned iron helmet, there is nothing special about it and that's a shame.
It is being worn by the magic using Ogress Shamans so it doesn't make sense for the equipment to be melee armor that lowers magic attack/defense. It should have been magic armor instead. F2P doesn't have any magic armor except for low tier items. Wouldn't it be nice to change it to the first mid-tier magic armor available to F2P? Melee/ranged already has their mid-tier equipment.

I also suggest that the warriors stop dropping them. The warrior doesn't wear one, while the shamans actually wear them. If you increase the droprates it will still be in balance since shamans are harder to defeat then the warriors.

I suggest:
Required to wear: 30 magic/defense and the completion of The Corsair Curse quest
+3 magic attack
All types of defense somewhere around +5

It will be a small, but needed upgrade in F2P magic and unlike all other F2P magic equipment you will have to work towards it with your stats and the completion of a quest. So it will stay in balance.

OSRS Dev Team.

I Would like to suggest another update for houses in oldshool, in the currently study room we can only built 2 types of lectern ,each one that display a few options of tabs to built, and if we wanna built a different tab we have to built another full study room only for the lectern difference, knowing that i would like to suggest a fused lectern, with all tab options to built in a single higher level lectern, the currently ones require 67 construction, so a better one should require around 83 to 89 i think, well thats it, tnx for reading my last comment about the xerics amulet mount.

Grand Exchange Tutorial for new players who don't know that the G.E. exists.

The G.E. is, by far, the most convenient way to trade and to gather quest materials. Returning players are very familiar with the G.E., but new players are not.

If a tutorial is not feasible, then some information should be provided in a way that is very obvious.
