OSRS Dev Team,
I've been meaning to reach out to the dev team to offer input on my osrs experience, specifically my perspective on FP2 multi-pking. I've been a runescape player for a decade now and F2P multi-pking has been at the core of my enjoyment in the runescape experience. F2P multi pking offers a thrilling and competitive game experience that is relatively straight foward to new players and is rewarding to those who develope their skillset in this feature of the game. It is an incredibly versatile piece of content that can range from pking with random players you spontaneosly meet in the wilderness to organized clan fights as an unofficial sport. This sub-community within the game has survived mostly through the strong bonds amougnst players in F2P clans who are dedicated to creating multi-pking action in the wilderness. As oldschool runescape grows, we want this part of the game to be sustainable, something that all new players to experience, and continue to improve with support from the dev team.
Recently with the addition of a F2P PVP world, regular W308 multi-pking was killed. One could no longer showup to varrock ditch, teamup with a few strangers and attempt to conquer the wilderness. My theory to why this happened: out of curiosity for the newly added PVP world, F2P pkers began testing out this new world. This temporarily shifted the multi pking action from W308 to W417. Unfortunately, the expereince in W417 did not prosper. The easy access to banks, less dynamic combat range restrictions, and annoying 1 itemers are a few reasons why. Since this shift of action to W417 occurred, it was difficult to send a signal to players coordinating a shift back to W308. If you showed up to W308 and saw no one, you simply thought W308 multi-pking was dead. Given the current environment, it had to return in an organic way. Thankfully it appears to have been revived with the influx of players from mobile release. Hopefully it can sustain its revival.
