God Spells ft Normal Magic - Make it viable in PvP?
(The following is referring to P2P magic)
To imagine that the three spells the
Runescape Gods
have gifted us with are going to waste is unimaginable. Currently apart from Teleblock I highly doubt many of the player killing community would even imagine using normal or god spells. Why?
Because there are a couple of vital reasons not to use it:
- Too many runes to use successfully, even with a rune pouch (Charge, entangle, Strike runes, Teleblock( unless you allocate teleblock to another individual, killing solo pking potential) )
- The damage output is massively swayed towards the use of Ancient Magicks
- The effects of God Magics E.G magic stat sap can easily be restored by potions
- Ancient magicks freeze and do damage (30+) at the same time. Entangle and firewave/god spells are two different spells and cannot put out the same damage atall.
Solutions?:
- Tweak the amount of runes you need
- Buff the damage, perhaps entangle does more damage?
- Buff the effects of God mage
- Nerf ancients
By the above solutions of course I'm looking for a
balance
in the issues of usability and damage output. I want an option of what magic I use when player killing rather than the choice being made for me.
Previously around the actual 07 era, being able to solo player kill or successfully use god spells was a massive feat and put you amongst the most elite in the game in PvP. Now with the release of items and bonus's you can use with ancients, god spells have been lost. It's a shame.
