No support. Get your own items/gear/equipment.

Even if this suggestion doesn't make it in, players are still able to loan items to their friends. It seems your issue doesn't lie in this suggestion, but with the implementation of trading in an mmo.

No support I'm afraid.

Whilst I like the idea, I feel I and many others wouldn't feel comfortable leaving high value items in an open bank style chest. It leaves more players open to scams ect. I know how ruthless some people can be on this game. I've been scammed by people who I thought for friends many times so even small amounts of cash. I think it will cause more negativity than positivity.

I think Jagex could spend the time working on more important aspects of the game that need fixing.

I agree, as it could bring new possibilities of scams. The concern is valid, and I've been in that same position of getting unfortunately scammed many times in the past.

Still, I feel this is a safe enough suggestion with the correct kind of education on the matter. The disclaimer on entering the Wilderness for the first time, for example, could be a great way to explain what to look out for with scams, as well as what to expect going in.

Others have suggested a sort of "collateral" approach, which I feel could work as well (ie, minimum deposit requirement for withdrawal), though that begins to complicate things.

Why not just introduce item lending? Then it's safe from scamming.

Put an item in the chest for x length of time, anyone can use it, then you're guaranteed to get it back when the time is over.

This way the item will always belong to the person who put it into the chest.

I'm not against item lending at all, in fact I think it would be awesome.
I just figured if it wasn't in the game again at this point there was some sort of technical limitation behind it, and was hoping the shared bank would be easier to implement.
