Help! Some guys tricked me into giving them my original account name and now they are using it to keep me locked out of my account! I changed my email and password and I keep getting this notice saying "Too many login attempts.." I have authenticator but I'm scared they are going to keep me locked out until they can find a way to steal my account!

I'd recommend you click on the Support link on the left side of the OSRS homepage and check out the section under "Your Account". There are several help topics there that might prove helpful for your situation.

*You might also start a thread on the Community Led Account Help section lower down in the forum under the Community Support heading. It might get more notice there from people who are more knowledgeable about how to solve your problem. ‡±General Tap's War Chest±‡

I just saw someone post on this forum about an email that they think came from Jagex. I did some searching around the forums to see if I could find threads about security and types of scam to avoid. I'm so glad I found this thread and the one in General about email security. Thanks for compiling this thread, Motley Crue! You guys are heroes.

hey i just got scammed 4.5m, this guy needed help with membership and just logged out with my gold pieces that i lent him, i already reported him. is there any ways to speed up the process? i also don't want to post his name on here since i do not know if it's the correct way to do so! any tips or feedback to avoid any other issues like this one? :/

I would also like to flag that there is a scam that takes place on Twitch, where a recorded video will play with a fake viewer base. The goal of this scam is to advertise fake promotions such as 'double XP weekends' in order for Runescape users to share their log-in credentials.
