Dude. Unfortunately the end result in this scenario is your own stupidity. You’re aware of this game, and some of the people that reside in it.

The majority of the community are perfectly fine, but unless you know the guys very well and know they’re buying stacks (Get them to show their item stack, this can sometimes help aid your decision). Don’t do it.

Guys, ALWAYS be aware of whatever link you're clicking and inserting your details. A few easy tips to avoid this are:

- You don't really trust whoever gave you the link? Don't click it. Just by clicking the link, you're risking your information.

- Always remember you're not only risking someone logging into your RuneScape account. Real-life personal information is always at risk.

- If you're not sure wether the website you're at is the actual RuneScape website or a lookalike, try clicking any other option that isn't login-related, such as the forums, beginner's guide, etc. In 99,9% of looklike RuneScape sites, these options won't redirect you anywhere. If they do, then it's probably the actual Runescape.

-If you're facing a login screen that you're not convinced is real, then try to type any random sequence in the username and password bars. If it's real RuneScape, it will tell you that the username or password is wrong. If it asks you for your authenticator, it's DEFINITELY fake.

-Something is even slightly fishy about whoever gave you the link? Don't click it. Instead, if it's really important, login on the RuneScape website, and try to find what you're looking for from there.

- Although this was already said plenty of times here, i'll say it one more time. If it looks too good to be true, it most probably is.

Fantastic post & great advice.

I played the original OSRS for years & returned when it came out on mobile. So far, it's just as I remember & brings back all the nostalgia with it, however I've noticed a significant increase in scams, doubling, bots/macros, gambling, etc. I know reporting is highly encouraged and there are a few places to post names of macro/bots and such, but it seems like most players tend to ignore & go on with the game.

I read through this post for advice although I admit, I didn't read all 61 pages of it, so I apologize if my question has already been answered.

I'm also aware the platform is still somewhat new especially for mobile, and these spammers can't possibly be buying memberships for all these accounts, so it may just be a f2p issue - even if a few do get through to p2p worlds. (I'm curious to see when I decide to finally activate my bonds).

My question is if jagex has OSRS in-game staff that will enforce fair play yet - because I haven't run across any so far. If so, are they only in p2p worlds? I couldn't imagine it would be too difficult for a jmod to hang out here and there to clean up the GE/wilderness border & maybe some pmods that wouldn't mind muting/reporting as they come across this constant nuisance.

Whatever the case if it's just a f2p issue or if Jagex has a plan in progress or not, I still think OSRS on mobile is a total hit & it won't inhibit my play.

Keep at it guys & thanks for bringing it back!
