Don't Forget to mention that there is NO Skill's assist system so people should never just hand over there items to have someone help them.

For Example. You need your diamonds cut so you hand them over to someone who says they will do it for you. There is a chance that person will take your diamonds and never give them back. It's best to just get the level required and do it yourself.

There is also no way to safely lend and barrow items so players are strongly encouraged from doing this as it may result in your items being scammed. Again it's best to work toward getting those items yourself.

Yes Zombie, those are indeed good things to bear in mind. I believed I touched on the subject in one of my posts regarding gem cutting and lending. I think I'll add another note on it in the "Ways to beat the scams" section.

While, I'm not planning on falling for any of these anytime soon, I can imagine this is very helpful to both new and old players who perhaps don't remember or haven't seen some of these. As I think someone already mentioned, there are a few common lures to watch out for, but there's one tip to always keep in mind: "Never keep anything in your inventory if you can't afford to lose it." While you may think that it is safe to carry 3 or 4 items with you, there are some lures that involve you getting skulled and potentially losing everything in your inventory. If you aren't planning on player-killing, there are very few reasons to enter the wilderness with any sort of wealth. There's no shame in telling someone that you don't feel comfortable entering the wilderness for any reason. If they are truly your friend, they will understand.

Great thread, thanks for all the information!
I must say that fast traders sometimes do a 10k trade, and before accepting they quickly make it 1k, and rush you into trade.
Almost got scammed that way! O.O

On the cutting gems thing: Way back in the day I trained crafting this way, but I always traded cut gems for uncut gems. If you want your gems cut look for someone who can do it this way :)
