Unfortunately you will not be able to get your money back, but if you reported the scammer then you will help in preventing them from scamming again.

It is saddening when you get scammed, but it is always avoidable. Just do your best at avoiding the next scam.

Players have often attempted to trade me low level herbs such as Guams, hoping I would not notice that they aren't toadflax or snapdragon herbs.

So be careful of that one, it's easy to make this mistake when you have been trading all day. Always check the second trade screen to make sure you are getting what you pay for.

Thank you for making this thread :) .

So, I'd like to ask one thing...

How do I report a "silent scammer"? In one world, I was trying to buy an air battlestaff, and one person offered me a trade without a word. Still silent, he put up a regular staff of air, rather than a battlestaff. Is it enough evidence to report, or should I stick with simply saying "Lol, go scam someone else"?

i was on osrs in varrock west bank and someone showed me 150k and asked if i wanted. i said sure. then he asked how much gp i got on me and i said 200k.

then he said bank everything except for the gp.

afterwards he told me to go downstairs and then said to me you see the 3 coins on the floor i said yes.

then he said right click the coins and click walk here.

then he told me to drop my 200k and to trade him.

after he said that i did not drop my coins and i went back upstairs.

im not sure if he was trying to scam or not but i was not going to risk it.

Yes he was, there is a graphical glitch with laying coins on top of coins that he "wanted to see if it works". You would have dropped them and it would have looked like only the 3 coins but then he'd trade you and while the trade screen is up and you're distracted he'll take your coins.
