Agree, but certain updates wouldn't be needed if there was better bot detection and elimination. Some things are out of their control, but I've reported many bots doing many different activities and some many are still active. By many I mean 50-100, and I would expect other players to have similar #'s of reports probabyl overlapping as well.

If the updates to OSRS will run parallel to RS3, then I believe a lot of people will eventually quit playing '(both versions of) RuneScape.
As long as they don't do updates reminiscent of EoC, or NEX, or whatever cloning updates in RS3 to OSRS, people, me included, will continue playing. Keep the games separate.
When I started playing OSRS on launch day, I didn't want any content updates, only quality of life updates, but alas, here we are with a game grown in an entirely different direction, and I'm glad that it did.
In case if you still don't realize, not only has OSRS done updates reminiscent of NEX, they have actually released NEX just a month after your post. I don't see anybody quitting OSRS because of NEX at all. OSRS is also planning on bringing Menaphos to the game, as well as planning on an RS3 style Community Event in March. So? It is about natural selection. OSRS is failing fast with their outdated content, that's why they have to copy the better content from RS3 in order to last longer. It is just plain truth.

Even the voting system itself shows the lack of 2007 authenticity of OSRS and that's why it is a big failure to veteran players. Players in 2007 just came to RS2 to experience Jagex's own creativity just like going to a restaurant and say omakase or chef's choice.
The irony that strikes me a lot is even quitting OSRS veterans brought up old school memories like RS3's Mod Osborne dressing up as an elf in the past is something they missed. Perhaps the 2022 OSRS has nothing left for even in the memories of 2007 veterans. The real Runescpe nostalgia only exists in RS3 in 2022.

While Jagex will be providing us with a perfect reconstruction of the content as it was in 2007, it is up to us players, the community, to ensure an accurate representation of the game.
Do you think GIM Boss Bash Raffle with real world prizes limited to 18+ players and players not living in anti-gambling countries like China (except Hong Kong), Belgium and the Netherlands is a perfect reconstruction of the content as it was in 2007? Do you think 18+ gambling content is an accurate representation of the game?
