The Pre-GE era for me was very fun in many ways, I loved bartering and player interaction most of all. I have grown to like GE though, with buying and selling being automated the risk for being scammed for items through trade is pretty much impossible.

I never wanted the Grand Exchange to be a thing. Anyway, I have played since before it came into existence, and would still gladly see it gone.

Also, I have so many rare black sharks to get off my hands. Would gladly sell them for a measly 5gp/ea.
A lovely little level 3.

I've been playing the same acc since maybe 04-05 ish and I'm still here now (on and off). As much as I didn't mind standing in Falador park shouting back then, and as much as I didn't want or ask for the GE, I think I'm probably spoiled now and if I didn't have access to it I'd just get impatient and angry. Maybe not though, who knows.

Pretty much. Unfortunately, too much of our community has been spoiled by the GE. Even before the GE was polled, everyone was camping Varrock West instead of Fally park.

Me and my 3 runescape friends started runecape in 2006.

We went to school together and love runescape, we all have osrs accounts.

I have to say I play for the nostalgia, and do not like the new stuff added to the game.

I think I preferred pre-ge. It made you play the game pretty much iron man do more yourself and that was the fun of it. I love watching 2006 runescape nostalgia videos on youtube.

Pre-GE community? Lol

I've been playing since 2004, and I have NO desire to see a pre-GE game mode. If you don't like the GE, then make an ironman.

I'm 31 years old, have a wife, and have a kid. I don't have the time standing around an area spamming "Buying 10k mage logs" or some crap. That was horribly time consuming...

Official Jagex Charitable Giving Update shows OSRS raised £25,557 from levels gained by all OSRS players between May 1 and May 4 at £1 per level. This means OSRS players gained an average of 6389.25 total levels per day.

Given 120k to 150k concurrent OSRS players in these days, it is really clear that an average concurrent OSRS player only gained 0.04 to 0.05 level each day. This is an extremely tiny amount of leveling efforts.

That's right. OSRS players are getting really causal at leveling the PRESENT DAYS. GE is extremely important because there will be very close to 0 level gained per day if everybody has to spam at GE for hours to sell their rewards from loot/skilling.

The latest news post, which you appear to be basing your calculations on, erroneously states that they gave £1 for every level. In reality, according to the original news post and the UI in game while the event was happening, it was £1 for every 150 levels. So your math is way off.

So should we also add in MTX for those who don't have the time to grind 99s?
