Go ahead and keep your head in the sand, But the truth is people are leaving and it does not matter that you do not like the truth. The price is being manipulated by the merchants and it is costing jagex money. That will result in fewer updates and people getting tired of the game.

"Old School RuneScape achieved its highest ever concurrent player number of more than 170,000"

see here, you are now asking for actual evidence to back up dilberts claim.

this is what i am asking you to do.... back up what you are saying

and here it is 170k players.
https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/jm8tl2/osrs_new_alltime_record_170000_online_accounts/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

see this is now evidence. to back up a claim.

so what evidence do you have that;

merchants are the cause of bond price change

the bond prices are causing players to quit.

That does not say what day it was taken, nor where. I remember us having numbers like that years ago, but now they are saying it was a record later. Considering that I have proven half of your "proof" wrong, I do not really see a reason to believe that is real.

Anyway, it does not matter any more. I tried to open people's eyes, just as I told MMG that if he did not find a way to bring back the old ways the game would die. 13 months later, they brought out old school with the old ways. In the mean time, the high score list (if you remember, they updated it so if you did not play for 6 months your name came off the list) went from needing an average of 60 in all skills to even show up, to instantly getting on the list with all 30's. In march 2012 their high score list was full for most of the skills, while a year later none of them were above half.

People said it was because of eoc, but if they left the day the update happened, they would not disappear until april 2013.

Combat players might have complained about eoc, but there is no evidence they left. Skillers voted with their pocket books and are going to do so again.

I don't know if Jagex has officially provided us a precise date, but unofficially from some non-Jagex graphs, this happened during the week of Nov 04, 2020 when OSRS peaked at 172,679 concurrent players. Obviously it wasn't 157k, but also much far lower than 500k you might think.

So the real question is, where were they? I was on a lot that week and you could go almost anywhere and not see many people? Perhaps it was right after one of the pvp or pvm updates and a lot of people logged on in the wild to check it out, but then left.

I do remember that early in the game, we had many of our worlds nearly maxed out. Now days you almost never see more than one or two, usually the ones with house parties, maxed out. Most usually have 100 people, some times less, to occasionally 200. I have actually seen worlds with only a dozen people in them.

So where are all the people?

I just realized something about their data. According to the numbers there are about 105k people playing osrs. There are apparently only 135k playing both games. That means only 20k players are on rs3, or their data is wrong.

You should have the answer to your own question. Concurrent players aren't the actual number of players of either game. Game A can have less concurrent players but more actual players than game B due to different operations of the game.

The "over 170,000 concurrent players" OSRS officially recorded were for OSRS only, they mean totally nothing to RS3 and RS3 concurrent players have totally nothing to do with OSRS Bond price.

Your comment is not incorrect to consumers (including buyers of Bond MTX), as well as the financial world, and the regulatory authorities. I doubt anybody will go to a website and look at how many concurrent players are there before they open their wallets.
