1) If the playerbase as a whole is fine with this, then it is good. If the playerbase is not fine, it is not. A fluff point.
2)
--BXPW is not happening anymore. Jagex dropped it for less time-intensive bonus exp methods such as Hati and Skoll.
--Loyalty points cost no extra money.
--Am I the only one who remembers players suggesting a cosmetic-only store as a good replacement for SoF? =\ And wasn't the original issue with Squeal the buyable-exp-and-money thing, not the cosmetic stuff?
I'll concede Runefest, game card promotions, Refer-a-friend, and Squeal, but it's not like Jagex has completely ignored us. Hell, the upcoming Evolution of Combat was born at least in part from the pleas of players for a rework (among other things, increased life points).
3) Conceded. At a minimum, give players a way to get 40 more free runecoins to get one full outfit.
4) Slippery slope fallacy. If it does come to Jagex selling "hyper teleport rocks" (which would be crazy even for them) then the game is toast. Until then, I'm not biting.
5) Jagex still gets 45% of the money spent on the costumes, and IVP still ends up feeding money back in. Pretty sure owning 55% of a company only gets you 55% of their net profits, not gross income.
6) At first I was gonna bat this away as idiotic drivel until I realized you didn't mean "quests will be bought with Runecoins". How I wish that was your argument, because then I'd have a counter. I'd like to say "Jagex wouldn't do that" but they've pulled crap before. Conceded, except for the Stockholm syndrome bit which I don't see how it relates.
7) Solomon's stuff (with the exception of the Achievement Banner) is neither gold nor items. This would be valid if we were talking Squeal (which is seriously WT*, we're agreed there) but Solomon ain't Squeal.
Not as bad of an argument against Solomon as I thought at first, but still a few issues.
