let go they are just cosmetics , let everyone have a chance to experience the items that have no value as they arnt tradeable
You had your "chance" yet you let it pass you up.
not necessarily not everyone necessary had access or knew about the game or maybe even the event ,so no i didnt let it pass me up . stop thinking about yourself and sucking all the fun out of the fun items seriously. since your putting so much unnecessary value on these untradeables it sounds to me like its time to make em tradeable

Problem is that loyalty points aren't so much about loyalty anymore, now that Jagex has sold them instantly for when you buy premier club membership, with gold premier basically dumping a truckload of them for you, and who knows, they might sell them in other ways in the future as well if this continues.
But I thought about it some more and here's what I came up:
1. Introduce a new currency, let's say "holiday points" to give it a name.
2. For every year of membership that you've exhausted, you gain a holiday point.
3. During the respective holiday, once you've completed that year's version of the holiday event, you're able to buy alternate versions of that type of holiday's discontinued rewards with your holiday point(s).
IMO this would be a good balance and make you truly consider what you want the most. > )
I can agree to a different versions but not exact rereleases.
it shouldnt matter if its an exact rerealse , they are just cosmetics and dont give me the whole " account age" crap because thats what the dam vet capes are for
Yet you seem to care alot if it is/isnt so that says something.
course i care this isnt about me this is about fixing a major mistake made for making tthem discountinued in the first place.. to solve thia they need to ake it like old school runescape where once you complete an event you get the previous years items and 2 of each tradeables now i could foresee just the untradeales coming out . besides based on the poll you provided it is clear that people dont want discontinued items anymore , so dude accept the change ok everyone should have fun with the holiday items the way they were meant to be
Pikachu, I agree with most of what you say except for this last post, but that's probably more because it is a response to Draco, whom derails threads constantly.
What I do agree with:
It doesn't matter if it's the exact same copy that comes back or if it is an override, nobody is affected negatively either way.
Account age is shown through capes designed for showing age. Not items meant for fun and roleplay.
The people who missed it more than likely had more pressing matters than a holiday themed 20 minute event in their lives, or maybe they haven't joined runescape yet. To forsake a cosmetic from them and make the claim that they physically chose to miss it is just plain disrespectful.
Tying account age to These items is an unnecessary value that doesn't benefit anybody whether it's kept on the items or not. They are cosmetics, they aren't advantageous to you even if you could show something as stupid as account age with them. It's not important.
If the majority votes yes in a poll, negative feedback is the minority. They need to grow up if they feel offended by people wanting cosmetics. As Pikachu said, and as I've said many times, get over yourselves.

I beg to differ. Veteran capes mean nothing when it comes to showing when you played. They only show how long ago an account was made, they don't show during which years you actually actively played.
And Again, in the many years I've occasionally used my own holiday items, nobody has ever even made a comment regarding this account age display. Nobody congratulated me for completing those not intensely difficult holiday events for any year because of my item. I can't even understand why it's even that important.
Why does it matter to them so much if they hardly even use their own items? What are you really protecting?
And actually yes, if the items were sold from Solomon's and were indeed overrides, and not physical copies, then you would still be able to display your age through them as yours would be itemized and mine would be an override. I'm not against it really.. but I'd rather not separate the community for the sole purpose of bragging that yours is more personal to you than I can ever feel with a "bought copy."
