So, I live in a MAJOR city in Canada. There is an EB games and Walmart on every corner here, so it seems. Can anyone explain to me why none I have gone to so far have the RED game card? Nor do they know what I am talking about? I will keep looking, but honestly, it should not be this difficult. Why can't any game card qualify, like in past promotions?
Seriously, if you want new membership numbers, why make it so difficult during these promotions?

My complaint that I've been a member for years and I'm missing out on items like this, the katana, the flaming skull, etc., is exactly what everyone is saying on here so I'll add to the complaint. We're told we can buy these game cards and the game time will be added to our membership... But since I, like many of you, have been members for a long time we are paying lower prices than the *7.95 a month. Why should I have to pay for the game card which is *7.95 per month plus the $2 dollars or so for the cost of plastic/store profit/whatever else, coming out to around $25 when I, as a long time member, pay much less than that? Jagex, you need to understand that you have SO many upset members that are going to quit once they get fed up with your antics. Im at the point where I never play because I'm annoyed with all your new ideas. I'd much rather play the Runescape from 8 years ago than todays Runescape.

^ You get more than a months worth. I have also been a long time, consecutive member. I qualify for less than the *7.95 membership. I get it when I use a game card by getting more than 90 days. In fact I usually get about 4 months of membership from a 3 month card. It does work out.
I pay $24 for a 3 month card. For a new member, that works out to $8 / month. For me, it works out to $6 / month.

And yes I realize my membership says it's only from 2010. That was something I was screwed out of also, I've been a paying member since atleast 2006, glad to see my records have been kept straight. Sorry this was off topic I just saw slander and laughs coming my way.

Doubt very much that I will be buying membership after mine runs out. I divorced the woman who refused to support me when I supported her totally. Why would I continue backing a game that couldn't care less.
This is almost as bad as W O W new Kung fu panda edition.

WOW Welcome to whine-fest. I also have a recurring membership for over 6 years never once expired. And guess what I get the best gift for that every month ....CHEAPER DUES....
They can't offer the same item to recurring memberships, because then there is no incentive to use a card and if there is no incentive to use a card then there's no incentive for the mask to exist in the first place :P
Now if they wanted to offer an item to recurring members how about something nice for members who "haven't" used a card in the last 90 or 100 days :O ..The Retailers would love it :D

I'll man up and say that is wrong for me to refer to anyone as a punk however I will stand by the fact that this game has changed in so many ways that are not at all what the game originally seemed to represent. I guess really I'm more of a player that would prefer that game play had remained pure and maybe its time for me to find another up and coming mmorpg that is still just about the game to support. I'm not saying this as a whine or a slam but as an understanding that as time goes on and things expand business decisions are made for business sake and frankly I don't want to be part of that so maybe when my subscription runs out that will be that I'll be looking for a new game that is in its infantsy to support until that follows the same course.
