"For example, we know that directly selling gold, XP or even accounts would generate between 10 to 15 times more revenue than Squeal or Solomon’s Store generates combined. However, we simply won’t do it, because we don’t believe it’s the right thing for the long-term health of the game."
1. That fact remains that you are indeed selling gold and experiance (though indirectly) with the buying of spins. This by its self is the reason for the negative feedback on the issue.
Your previous stance of buying your way with real life money has changed due to the fact that you now need payroll to hire quality teams to put forth a quality product. If you could have raised membership 1 dollar,Im sure players would gladly accept it.
We understand that runescape needs revenue to progress, but to tempt the "rich" with an in game advantage seems out of character.
2. You say more employees have been hired to insure a better quality of game play is alittle misleading due to the fact that some of our most loved content has been neglected. Your up comming bot detection is the right road here and I hope it "pays" off.
I have been a loyal member for years and have seen alot of the good and bad , so please take this in the good spirit in which it was written.
