Have you stopped and asked yourself why it's the popular opinion? And then asked yourself why yours is not the same?
You also seem to be unaware of Jagex's financial state. They are doing just fine. They're having no trouble at all paying their employees.
Sure, I have the choice whether to purchase unfair advantages, but what I don't have a choice in is playing the game with others that have and do purchase these unfair advantages. I also appear in the same highscores table.

Hmm. On one hand, it's a hopeful sight; A response at last, instead of being ignored to death.
On the other hand, it seems to say, "We're not gonna slow down on the SoF and the SGS. You should be happy we're not selling gold, XP and accounts directly. Oh, but don'tcha worry, it aaaall goes to the future of the game, and you'll see it all soon!"
Oh, what is it with game developers and the concept of "soon" or "in a few [time unit]s"...

Oh, and on the HTML5; it needs some work, looks sorta broken right now. (The minimap and those random goldish rings on top, for instance.)

Wow, 163 pages in one day. That is probably a record. It does look like selling game content is widely unpopular with long term players who have worked for their content. And selling content will probably cause loss of long term players. None of that matters.
If Jagex has enough short term turnover, they don't need long term. And short term players don't have proprietary feelings towards the game. Much better Jagex thinks.
The Zynga model is just too tempting. It developed gradually, but now all game content is for sale in Zynga games. And Zynga has millions of players. How could Jagex resist?

Squeal of Fortune didn't bother me, if people were willing to spend more money on the game for stupid stuff, good for Jagex. But to introduce added bank space (that was once given to members, you know, the people already paying to play the game, when new items were added) for an EXTRA cash payment is just wrong.

I can't stand how underhanded, dishonest and sneaky Jagex is. They basically just do whatever they want. Sometimes (but RARELY), they do something (updates or otherwise) that coincides with popular opinion. Then, they sit there smugly and basically say : "LOL! See how we listen to player base? We so devoted!"
But, the other 9 out of 10 times, they blatantly ignore their long time players and customers. They focus on bringing about updates that nobody asked for and that nobody wants. Despicable.
And, like I said before - if the almighty dollar is your bottom line, that's FINE. You're trying to make money. I understand. But, don't sit there and act like our opinion is the be all and end all to you when obviously it isn't.

I would stake my entire life savings that it wasn't written by MMG at all. It was either completely and solely written by an IVP representative and/or handed to MMG (by said IVP representative) to pass off as his own.

I really do not care about jagex selling stuff.
Yes they were rubbish for not back dating loyalty points for membership.
Yes they were rubbish for not rewarding players with sof spins for already completed quests.
Yes they are a bit rubbish for the angle on banks spaces (it is most likely that long term players need more bank space so they are the ones who may take on a further expence with jagex).
But by far the only real bad thing is the BOTS this has gone on far to long now and the BOTs unbalance the game more than anything else.
Visit the forums ? I would rather go to Hutton orbital

What a joke this was...
The way they try playing all this crap off like it was all part of the plan to help Runescape is asinine. This is PURE greed and money driven now, it has nothing to do with the game. Your game is dead. You've wounded it to the point of no return.
You guys can't even fix current FPS issues since the previous nuke last year and now you're trying to increase memory usage through increasing view distance and detail? Get your priorities straightened out, idiots. All HTML5 does is basically make java more device friendly, NOTHING else.
The biggest facepalm in the world couldn't even do this justice.
Ignorant beyond belief..
