I kind of feel bad for you, I can tell you are trying to make us happy with your replies without making us any more upset.
I cannot imagine how stressful it is to sit there and figure out a way to keep from directly lying and deceiving your loyal players.
To know that there is nothing you can do about these RWT updates would be sickening and I could not stand it myself if I were in your shoes.
But after all that said you do need to feed yourself and maybe your family and I understand.
Let's just hope that the higher ups will come to there senses, if not. This game is going to start losing a lot of players, and fast. Only to be replaced by botters and gold farmers thinking people still actually play the game.

Thanks for the interesting and thought provoking reply.
In terms of GP, I have to disagree. Yes you can convert your items to gold but this doesn't mean that people are able to directly purchase gold. You will hopefully hear more info on this soon but the concept that you can simply buy gold is not true. You never know what item you will get from a spin, the amount of gold per item is very low, it's simply not direct gold selling. More importantly it won't be. :)

All this money grabbing is to pay for RuneScape adverts I’ve seen on UK TV. Jagex keeps coming up with things to temp us to part with our real money.
What was once free we now have to pay for.

I do not like this money grabbing Jagex team we got now. Bring back (please) the RuneScape we once loved.
