Hi Jagex/IVP,
I realize the Squeal of Fortune and Soloman's Store is meant to simply be a way to turn a profit, but I believe it could be done a different way. As you must have undoubtedly noticed, nearly every player dislikes updates that are to do with micro-transactions, and many are against the fact that updates that are to do with micro-transactions take precedence over nearly every other update in the game.
Ideally, I would like the Squeal of Fortune and Soloman's Store gone and out of the game for good. If this just is not possible though, I have a few suggestions to improve player feedback.
First, the Squeal of Fortune. Obviously, the main attraction here is the XP Lamps available to win. This obviously cannot be changed, otherwise, no one would purchase spins. I only ask that you cut down significantly on your advertising. Nearly every post on the front page has some sort of connection to the Squeal of Fortune, and every single post contains some sort of reference to it.
We (the players) enjoy reading about new content, but it is disheartening when the "Sizzling Summer Promotions" have a higher priority over even the Behind the Scenes article. I believe player feedback would be much better if you cut down the amount of advertising ingame and on your website.
