@mordeth - Yes. A company's money does in fact come from their customers. As for the 200 Million registered users, those 200 million aren't all active accounts. In fact, I'd guess only a small percentage are accounts that have logged in within the past year or two. That is the total number of accounts EVER registered. So, no, 200 million people/bots do not come through this site on a regular basis. That web traffic is NOT there. For your explanation, just read above a little bit. They are a company, with growing expenses. Add that with the increasing cost of living that their employees are dealing with, tadah! The need for more income.

Dislike. Another way that Jagex is trying to milk it's players of more IRL money. Not content with members, so they introduce buyable spins. I didn't think that was too bad, because it was a portion of a "minigame" that was buyable, not the whole thing. However, this "store" is introduced solely to take money from people for items. People are given advantages based on their wealth in life which is not how runescape is supposed to be. Meh.

"We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. We feel your status in real-life shouldn't affect your ability to be successful in RuneScape."
C'mon Jagex. I think it's cool to have this store, the idea behind it is cool, but make another way to get these "RuneCoins" other than purchasing them with real world cash. You're doing exactly what you said you weren't going to do. It's not very fair to those who don't have money to spend on every new thing you come out with.

The whole idea is probably not that bad for new players in general, but that sort players in groups depending on the standard of living. Why they should meet that even in-game? Not everyone can afford to spend money to buy these coins and that's restrict people in some way. For someone even 8 bucks in a month is a lot. I know it's also depends on personal opinion about spending money on the game not only financial position, but for young players it might be signal to show off the real life wealth and it's not correct in my opinion.
I'm old enough to understand the reasons why this feature was added, not like i can't afford to spend money on this it's just not for me. Maybe there should be also another ways to earn the coins for that store, like Sof spins.

Please get rid of this. I was fine with the SoF, just because the chances of winning are low, and mostly you win small amounts of xp, which is helpful for slow skills, or unrare, low value items. I'll admit, it does keep people coming back, but people should want to come back because of content, not a chance at winning 200m.
This is turning into another internet cash scam. Farmville anyone? No one is going to go tell their friends to play Runescape because you can now buy stuff with real money. When i first saw this I was (and still am) incredibly disappointed at what Jagex is turning into.
For the sake of, basically everyone on this thread, stop these plots to get more money. Listen to our feedback. Runescape will fall to its own destruction if you don't. As many others before have stated, I thought membership was all inclusive. There is absolutely nothing positive to this update. Now there are so many cosmetic items and emotes that no one has any prestige anymore. When I see people with all these costumes, promos (flaming skull, katana, etc...), and emotes all I can think is how Runescape is slowly becoming lost.
I ask again, on behalf of the generous, fun-seeking, Runescape community, do not do this to us. Please stop the madness, before it gets too far.
Tears will be shed for the old Runescape. Turn this around.

We already pay for you to make good cosmetic changes not so we have to pay more for them and the same thing goes for loyalty points as well the only possible way for us to get that stuff is to pay real money in order to get all of that quickly. As I remember your own rule as no Real World Trading which is kinda what you're making us do in order to get those cosmetic things as well as some of the non cosmetic we could just pay gold coins for instead of actual money. I think the rest of the runescape community feels like jagex team or whoever is making these decisions, is getting greedy, which I understand that now that its gotten bigger its now a business but what happened to the old Jagex the one where you payed for membership and you played and didn't have to pay real money to get more stuff for in-game objects

Two things will improve this update:
-Allow the accumulation of runecoins in the game, like what is now occurring with SOF, or add them to the SoF prize list.
-REMOVE THE ADS I HAVE TO CLICK THOUGH EVERY TIME I TRY TO PLAY! I pay membership to not be inundated with ads! I had to deal with it for the entirety of Mad May, the entirety of the SoF adventurer's bonus time, and now for the Solomon's store I have to click out of an ad! That's really really ridiculous. These ads are even more intrusive than banner ads. It really needs to stop.
