I'm happy to let you know that on the 25th you will not be recieving another payment from me. I've played this game for a long time now. I've payed a fair sum of money over the years. You no longer deserve any more from me.
Ever since Andrew gave up the game to the Investors, this game has become another generic MMORPG.
The recent quests have been okay, the newest was terrible, the Loyalty Shop was beneficial, arguably unfair, the Squeal of Fortune was tolerable, if only because of the free spins but there is NOTHING good that comes from selling 200 coins at a price of 4.99 when a costume costs 216, requiring us to spend at least $10 for one costume. That's not happening.
I used to be happy to beg my dad to pay for membership when I was younger, I was even happier when I started earning the money for it myself, but now anything I've given to you since Feburary this year has felt like I'm paying to torture myself.
I don't care about other opinions on this update, this time it's MY opinion that matters, it's MY money I'm taking away from you and I'll be glad to see this game fall apart if this is what the Investors are doing to it.
Micro-transactions are a surefire way to kill any long-lasting community in a game. Congratulations, you murderous sons of Hellhounds.
Goodbye, and good riddance.
And to those who'll be glad to see me gone because of this comment. I won't miss you lot either ;) .
Farewell, actually, don't, fare excruciatingly miserable.

So sad that more and more on runescape it all depends on how much in real life cash you have, did you ever stop to think about the player who would love pegasus but cannot afford it feels beside a player who has everything available from the store ? probably not.

Was this really necessary? I mean you could have just added these items to the loyalty points shop instead of creating a WHOLE NEW shop for them. And seriously, a fart emote? seriously? I mean, seriously...a fart emote...come on. Oh and what I just figured out was why the reason you made a whole new shop was so people have to buy point which = more money for Jagex. I remember a while back when you said you weren't doing the game for the money but for the good player experience, where has that gone? -_- Where are the good days of RS? :(

People seem to keep forgetting that, like I said before, games cost money to maintain. Aside from the cost of maintaining, the staff needs to make a living as well. It really comes down to the fact of, if you don't like the micro-transaction idea, don't use it. It provides no leg up in the game. Everything in it is purely aesthetic (for looks). Whether you spend $100 on the shop or $0, it doesn't change the gameplay at all. It is not necessary to buy things, it is just for fun.

And what is wrong with them trying to make money? They are a company after all. Them making money this way has not effect on you if you don't purchase anything. Would you rather have the option to pay on the side, or have subscription rates increase even more? At least this way, they make the extra money they need and it doesn't cost you any extra if you don't use the micro-transaction system. Step back and look at it from a business standpoint rather than an angry gamer standpoint. Do you even know why you're angry at something that DOESN'T effect you unless you CHOOSE to use it?

And I'm sure they aren't hurting for money because they have like what? 4-5 million members all paying $6-8 a month. Lets do the math here: 5 million x $8 = $40,000,000 a month + all their ad revenue. Seems to me they have plenty of money to keep a game up and running with updates and also pay their employees.

I think you guys are forgetting that just about everything that can be bought with Runecoins is purely cosmetic and has absolutely no effect on actual gameplay. The guy who spends $300 on Runecoins still has zero advantage over a player who never will. I don't see how this update harms anyone. If you don't want to pay, then don't.
Also, if you're quitting just because of this update, good riddance. One less idiot posing as a RuneScape player.

And do you know their monthly expenses? I really doubt you have any idea how much everything costs. My guess is that they are getting by, but not getting rich. Is it wrong to want to make more money? They aren't forcing anyone to pay anymore than they want. What part of that are you missing?
Save your frustrations for when they implement a microtransaction for levels, items, or exp. (which I doubt they'll ever do)
@Hellbuck - I just said the same thing, and they ignored it, good lucking getting through with common sense. But I agree, maybe this will get some of the less intelligent people off the game.
