Wow, really? Why the hek is Jagex adding all these stupid things that cost real money to get. I for 1 of the lot will not be spending money on this. I thought you may be able to get like a coin or 2 a day from gameplay..... but nope.
Why must everything with jagex "money, money" now in days????
I hope there is not people spending real money on this crap..... let alone spins. I have hard enough paying my monthly membership, and I bet most others do too.

You guys do realize that they have to make money too. Also you don't HAVE to take part in it if you don't want to.
I like the whole idea really. I think there is some neat products that they have.

You know, people complain about this update because they have to pay for it. But really, this is not a bad idea. I mean it's all cosmetic anyway, as long as it doesn't involve better stats, huge amounts of GP or experience it won't quite make the game worse. I mean this is a customization update basicly, if people want to pay to customize their character with this then why stop them? It's not like they get better equipment, stats or gold from it or anything.

Bot nukes are a lose-lose for Jagex. If they leave the bots alone, Runescape is like a house filled with cockroaches. If they destroy the bots (which probably make up at least up to 40% of member accounts (maybe more)), they have to find a way to make up the money they lose. So they take on more ads. (Video adds are now included in f2p) And they add in these ridiculous updates. So in their attempt to rid the proverbial house of the proverbial cockroaches they now have giant holes in the ceiling they must get fixed. Which involves starting a fundraiser, in this case a $40 costume along with many other items that do nothing but change the appearance of the character.

You don't have to take part in botting, but go try to get some red chinchompas, see how you feel?
It doesn't really matter that it's only cosmetic. Just because it doesn't give an advantage doesn't mean it's jagex supported RWT. I would honestly prefer a 30 second ad before logging in.
I also have to ask, what non-member is going to buy things from the squeal or solomon's shop and not a freaking membership. Basically they're advertising this to members.
"NO ADVERTS IN GAME" A membership benefit.
I really do think the players know whats best- especially because if you push us to far, you lose money.

What ever happened to the old runescape where the only time we needed real world money was to become a member. Jagex!!! ya ur trying to make a profit, get more players, and offer new things to lure people, but this is not the concept runescape started up with.

Look, I know this is yet another addition to the game where you can "RWT," but you guys don't realize that most other MMOs do this same exact thing. You have to pay money just to change Realms on WoW..
Jagex needs to make money, and it's not like this update effects the gameplay at all. There's no overpowered items, no xp gain, it's PURELY COSMETIC. If you don't want to buy the stuff, don't complain about the people that were willing to. You can save up $5 if you really want something that badly.
I don't see why so many people complain about something they are not forced to do. Although I, too, miss the old Runescape, this isn't the old Runescape, this is 2012 and change is going to happen or else they will get no new subscriptions for being an outdated game.
Although I probably won't ever buy Runecoins, Jagex, the update wasn't bad, and gave us an option to buy some cool outfits if we want. Thanks :)
