After talking to Hans yesterday about how old we were and having him hand me that cool Red X cape, I thought maybe you guys (JaGeX) might get back to your roots - the things that made me like Runescape in the first place.
I was very disappointed when the whole Loyalty system came out (which is why I have still NOT enrolled in it) because it showed that JaGeX was becoming nothing more than a greedy business.
When the Squeal of Fortune came out, I thought 'oh this is interesting, I wonder where it could be going...' Sure enough, we can now buy extra spins.
Quite frankly, this last update is sickening.
It seems like every time I check in to see what is going on, JaGeX has found another way to cheapen Runescape. I am at a loss right now because I feel that the JMods that read and report on our feedback (if any) must write it off as the whole "people are more likely to give negative feedback because they are less likely to provide feedback if they are satisfied" theory.
I was introduced to this game in in 2001-2002 timeframe, and immediately liked it (even as hard and tedious as it was...) Over these many years I have seen many great improvements that I know required investment of time and heart from the developers. However, it seems the desire to provide a good game has been overpowered by the greed of collecting money. Sitting back and thinking through the years, it seems that the updates gone from great improvements once in a while, and evolved into cheesy updates that are released every few days. Just a suggestion, but maybe cut back on the overhead required to support that kind of activity and focus on quality updates once again - that way you wont have to grab for our cash as much. I have a feeling that will fall on deaf ears/blind eyes, just had to put it out there.
It sucks that all we can do is watch. As a dedicated veteran, this is very sad to see.

So many people threatening to quit over this. Do what you gotta do. The game is still fun to me, and cosmetic items that you can buy with money don't really bother me much. Nobody is forcing you to get the rad new Pegasus Teleport emote. If you feel that the game is truly on a decline and all the years you have spent beating up levels and skillcapes are worth throwing away because a few people pay money to wear a cat outfit, then by all means quit. Nobody is forcing you to play this awesome game.
I got no problem with anything you wanna do to the game, Jagex. After all, you own all the rights, make the rules, and our accounts are actually your property anyways. I'm thankful that you have created this game and populated it with interesting things to do. Maybe Squeal and Solomon's Store are not the most popular of updates, but just like any content, we have the luxury of ignoring it if we don't like it. Or quitting altogether as some people are threatening to do.
100% of players are NOT against this update. There may be many who despise it, but not all of us do.

Just like the new Bata program, bad for players who want to just play the game and not fight all the time. Makes things a lot harder to gain points, takes 4 times as long to kill the same thing that took only a Minute to Kill. Stop changing those things and start fixing all the lagging going on.

what the hell has happened to jagex, first you start pushing membership loads more than you used to, pretty much the end of every news article tells people to buy membership, then you brought in the sof which is just a blatant (albeit poor) attempt to rake in more money now I guess that's kind of flopped since everyone hates it and you're not getting as much money from spins as you thought so you've introduced yet another thing to the game for the sole purpose of getting more money
making cool things like exclusive quests and weapons for members is a perfectly acceptable way to encourage people to be members and worked perfectly well for over 10 years I don't understand why the sudden change to being solely driven by trying to get as much money out of your players as possible

The news post says "... and as a celebration of his store's 'Grand Opening', Solomon is offering all first time visitors to his store 200 RuneCoins to spend." yet I don't have my free 200 RuneCoins... Is it a glitch? Is it just taking a while to add them to every account? O_o
