After talking to Hans yesterday about how old we were and having him hand me that cool Red X cape, I thought maybe you guys (JaGeX) might get back to your roots - the things that made me like Runescape in the first place.
I was very disappointed when the whole Loyalty system came out (which is why I have still NOT enrolled in it) because it showed that JaGeX was becoming nothing more than a greedy business.
When the Squeal of Fortune came out, I thought 'oh this is interesting, I wonder where it could be going...' Sure enough, we can now buy extra spins.
Quite frankly, this last update is sickening.
It seems like every time I check in to see what is going on, JaGeX has found another way to cheapen Runescape. I am at a loss right now because I feel that the JMods that read and report on our feedback (if any) must write it off as the whole "people are more likely to give negative feedback because they are less likely to provide feedback if they are satisfied" theory.
I was introduced to this game in in 2001-2002 timeframe, and immediately liked it (even as hard and tedious as it was...) Over these many years I have seen many great improvements that I know required investment of time and heart from the developers. However, it seems the desire to provide a good game has been overpowered by the greed of collecting money. Sitting back and thinking through the years, it seems that the updates gone from great improvements once in a while, and evolved into cheesy updates that are released every few days. Just a suggestion, but maybe cut back on the overhead required to support that kind of activity and focus on quality updates once again - that way you wont have to grab for our cash as much. I have a feeling that will fall on deaf ears/blind eyes, just had to put it out there.
It sucks that all we can do is watch. As a dedicated veteran, this is very sad to see.
