So, treasure hunter was put in the game by your definition to make sure membership prices wouldn't go up. That it would make it possible to have seasonal events every year, yet now we're getting copy pasted generic events with little to no dev time being spent on them and also getting hammered with treasure hunter promotions LITERALLY 2-3 times a week. Does Jagex even care about their game anymore?
There's tons of games out there that are not as good, running in an oversaturated market that charge waaaaaay more than what Jagex asks, either through pay to win methods (coughdeadgamearcheage) or $15/month membership fees. You have to remember that the company needs to keep up with rising costs of living, their employees costs and anything else a business has to pay to stay running. This might be part of an idea to cut back MTX (I hope) so they're going to need to cover lost ground somehow

Could I have some clarification on whether there are other regions due a price raise that aren't included on your list?
Due to the velocity of currencies we may limit postings to the most common - once prices are updated the shop basket will update automatically to your localised currency.
To
all
most of the players complaining about the upcoming price increase:
You obviously haven't been around long enough to realize that costs go up...for everything...and everywhere, both on the production side, and as a result, on the consuming side.
================================================================
*Just an example that those in the US may recognize, (if old enough, of course) is the cost of a Burger King "Whopper" sandwich. Until as late as 2003, you could eat the filling, artery-clogging hamburger for as little as $0.99 -
not even a dollar!
Now, you're lucky if you can get one for
3 bucks
, but
ONLY
if you buy
2
!!! That's a 300% increase in 15 years, guys...
================================================================
Most of you buy mems for longer than 2 weeks at a time, (the amount redeemed from a bond purchased) and will continue playing for much longer than that, so will never even be affected in the first place!
As far as MTX goes... it's optional, and shouldn't be tied in any way to the
actual
price of playing the game - that's on you if you buy into it...
Just my 2 cents....
Just my 6 cents... (Gotta keep it consistent!)

EDIT: They've created an awesome game with Runescape, and I've been playing for a long time, now. The enjoyment it's brought me far exceeds the cost I've paid to play over the years, by far. Certainly not going to complain about a couple bucks, here and there!

Another one weighing in. Basically, what does this do to the RuneScape card prices? I use them to pay for my membership. (And very occasionally, RuneCoins.) What can I expect to be paying when I go get one?
EDIT: Someone on the RSOF Discord found the answer for me. Price isn't changing.

The prices will remain the same, but packages will decrease.
I love Runescape, and I pay what I can aford. As long prices are reasonable and I love updates and game, there is nothing to discuss about how much jagex earn from different aspects of marketing goodies. Its business not a charity.
Thank you for keeping so great game alive for as long I can remember since online gaming world started for me. Whenever I stoped playing and came back it was always there waiting for me, even better than before
