@Rockyjay, well when you think about it nearly all combat skills compliments another combat skill such as attack/strength being one of the many. I do understand what you mean by 800 being too much but I rather not see anything else be excluded. An update is meant to improve and/or add to not the opposite.
@1997 Chrisl, perhaps. Doesn't magic, herblore, and summoning also seem to be too?

Yeah now its impossible to safespot any monsters? I was ranging black demons from a mile away and they shoot fireballs now wtf.

How will melee only monsters be now, for example the lvl 21 varrock guards or lvl 32 falador white knights. Will they shoot some sort of range attack out of their ass too?

i'd like to give some feedback about the combat system, this involves the melee part, i have tried out all the different abillities (for melee,range,mage) and i find that melee has the most abillities that required a channeling time (6) seconds, i find this to be very disturbing because it's hard for me to tell when the actuall channeling time has started/ended, i'd like to see more instant abillities when im playing melee. as for ranged, i really how this turned out, the damage is very nice, the abillities are nice (not an overload of channeling skills), and same goes for magic, thank you jagex and i hope to hear from you=), oh and keep in mind, im not in the beta 100% im only able to enter at weekends, but this is what i have came up with so far, mellee needs more instant abillities, thank you.

HERES A SUGGESTION..keep old runescape its obviously been doing something right for the last what? 9-10 years? dont go fixing things if they arent broken. simple as that. or at least keep the rs as of now,like you did with runescape classic like another server.

Good job jagex on listening to and responding well to the xp rate problem. I think the old system of set xp per individual monster was best.
I also think the old cb level system was better and should leave that alone, but thats just my opinion. The new cb calculator is harder to judge overall threat level than before.

@ProBodyBuild, as a ranger (hence the name ^_^ )I do understand your perception of the current situation but at the same time I fully believe that giving npcs a ranged and or magical attack will bring more flavor, challenge, and battle awareness to the game. Also, lessening safe-spotting would in a sense re-balance the the combat triangle since melee needs to be in direct contact in order to fight a mager or ranger. Besides, what fun is it to hit and run or hit and safe-spot? Tbh, it ruins the game experience for multiple people, me, being one. However, ProBodyBuild rangers and mages are not as cheap or dominate in the armour/weapons department as melee is so I can understand the use of safe-spotting to an extent. As for myself personally, it doesn't fit into my CCH/Code of Combat Honor. Furthermore, I always believed range to be the most dominating thing in rs (and so far it seems that I am right). Rangers have the best DPS and if you combine that with DoT (e.g. poison arrows) also combined with the new abilities how can you not win being a ranger? :D

What do i really will miss its that each weapon was unique for its special attack. Now they all do same thing except changed styles and looks. I would really love to see ultimate ability or 50% abilty called SPECIAL. That would bring back uniqueness of each weapon. Also i think u should slightly raise slayer xp compared to what we have in live game now if u were using abilitys.. but thats my opinion

Beta sucks, stop trying to ruin runescape. I've been here for 6+ years, and there's no doubt in my mind I will be leaving once beta is turned into the permanent combat system. Don't fix something that has had good results for the past many years.
